I have found a 65 V8 cable actuated 904 Transmission from a floor shift Barracuda. Will this transmission work with the 65 Valiant Slant Six Column Shift Shifter cables? I am swapping out a Slant Six for a 66 273 V8. I'm hoping this will solve my shifter / linkage / steering column issues...

How are you controlling the transmission? Your 65 is cable operated? Would love to see pictures of the setup. Thanks

The issue I have is mine is a 65 column shift cable activated transmission. The floor shift cars came with bucket seats as part of the shifter fits between the seats. I have a bench seat, so I would have to find some period correct front bucket seats. What I really need is a V8 65 904...

Definitely will need lots of machining time. Thanks

Hopefully someone will have one available, otherwise I think I'm cooked on my Slant Six to 273 conversion project.

That's really bad news... Will a later model steering column work? I really don't want to convert it to a floor shift.
