    Found 1968 and 1973 - 340 Blocks

Found this one in garage, 1968 Vehicle, fairly rusty. Wondering now where the caps are? And the auto transmission was still with it when I first got them, so maybe it's around. I wipe white grease pencil into stamping after cleaning, and wipe excess off in one direction. Helps me see the...

    Center console question

I'm making some notes now. Seriously, Sendcutsend, cupholders, USB port. I wonder if 3 -12VDC rocker switches will fit in front of the shifter?

That really looks very good. Very ingenious and I like the addition of the cup holders! Thanks for sharing the tips, pics and drawing. It will help me. That looks like a correct shifter handle too, maybe? Brewers has those. Then you don't even need the Gunslinger bracket.

    Center console question

If you need more info on the bracket, let me know, maybe I can help. Maybe I will have mine put together by then. I'm going to cut an automatic console top plate for the 4 speed boot/shifter and then fab the chrome trim that goes around it. Maybe I will find a scrap 4 speed top plate to carve...

    Center console question

Here a "drawing" of the Gunslinger bracket with most of the measurements. I just noticed that the offset measurement is missing, it's hard for me to measure, but I'd say maybe .75". Pretty obvious that orthographic projection is not my strong suit. The bolts are 3/8" and the bolt holes are just...

    Looking for 1970 and 1972 340 Blocks

Looking for the block for my 1970 340 Duster. 0B189175. And the 4 speed. Also for my 1972 340 Duster, 2B238105. Both cars brought up from the South. 1970 from 'Bama, and 1972 from OKHoma. Thanks

    Center console question

I'll try to get measurements tonight, right now I only have privacy in bathroom, wife watching every move. The angle might be tricky, for me anyway, not good at fabbing. Looks like all holes same size, there are two on each end. I think maybe the bolts in there now go to the stick. I have that...

Did the 1979 Lil Red Express come with an air pump?

I agree with Mr. Lusk as well. I thought the truck exhaust manifolds were drilled and tapped for the metal pump tubes. There was a small cover for the hole in said manifolds, with a gasket (I have one), when not used for an air pump IIRC. I didn't pay much attention to an engine after it was...

Did the 1979 Lil Red Express come with an air pump?

I want to be sitting in the LRT Bed and my hearing aids turned to "11" for that!

Did the 1979 Lil Red Express come with an air pump?

I inserted a photo that I found online of the LRT's being built at Tecumseh Truck (Chrysler Canada). These were 1978 Model year. I recall the 1979 model year and all the rumors about W2 heads, etc. Most of the excitement back then was because of the performance of the prototypes, and people...

Yes, those plants were closer, like 1/2 to 3/4 mile apart. Was just taking a guess from memory. Ask the mailman: Ex. Address of (21000 Mound Road minus 5000) ÷ 2 = 8,000 = 8 Mile Road and Mound Road, center of intersection. (19000 Mound Road minus 5000) ÷ 2 = 7,000 = 7 Mile Road and Mound Road...

Yes, you're right. I had two cop cruisers so I should have remembered. EH1 - Lil Red Truck.

    Small Blocks

Yes, I think your right. I had forgotten the separation between trucks and cars. "Federal" trucks were not limited but Canada, California, and Export categories had different emissions standards, later in the 1970's. Can't remember a specific date. The best engineers were technicians too at some...

    Small Blocks

Lots of great ideas here, too bad someone wasn't there 1966-67 (In Highland Park Engineering) to suggest some for T/A engine program. Tremendous cost and time factors to redevelop an engine, why didn't they keep and offer the T/A for other models (than E body). Even cheaper, why couldn't you get...

    Hurst 4 speed handle #4105

OK, I'll guess. It looks very similar to a Cheby 538 4106. I think they're usually measured from centerline of bottom bolt hole to top of threaded portion, and setback (from bolthole) and then any offset, left or right. Try Shifter Doc site.

Agreed with A38 above, prolly not a Race engine. I think OP gave the VIN number in post #15? 81 engine, 78 truck. Date code given for front of block doesn't appear correct, at least to me. I would have been at Dodge Truck, working in 1981, so good chance this engine passed by me (depending on...

Like mentioned above, the numbers. I wonder if there is "T" stamped below left head too. I have seen it on B, RB blocks but those were from Trenton Engine. 318's were from Mound Road Engine. All were blue that year, at least in the Truck Plant. There may have been a different color on the...
