I needed a 10" drum brake dust cap.
In the process I got an education...
I had one OEM
Classic industries repo MP500302
Dorman 618-101
Dorman 13976 (618-100) -that the books said fit 67 Dart
Left to right
OEM, Classic Ind Repo, 618-101, 13976
The OEM has seen its share of hammer blows so it's shape is not truly known.
The Classic Ind Repo is attractive and similarly shaped and sized to the OEM.
The Dorman 618-101 cap is a little shallower than the OEM or Classic Ind, but still fits even with the cotter pin bent up between the spindle and the cap.
The Dorman 13976 (618-100) is significantly smaller. The OD is too small for the 10" drum / disk. Maybe it fits the 9" drum?
OD's
OEM
Classic Ind Repo
Dorman 618-101
Dorman 13976 (618-100)
The distance from the hub side of the stop to the outer end the cap.
OEM = 1.016"
Classic ind. repo MP500302 = 1.054"
Dorman 618-101 = 0.947"
Dorman 13976 (618-100) D = 0.793"
The Dorman 618-101 went on easy enough using a split PVC pipe, hose clamp, 2x4 and hammer.
No interference, and the cap does not feel like it will come off on its own.
The only reason I did not use the Classic Ind Repo cap is I just needed the caps during build time.
