If you ever tire of slants i would love to see someone do jeep straight 6's.. :) a guy on youtube is making silly power with them.. just over 1000hp on a stock block/head combo recently..

Unfortunately, back when I was running slant 6s there wasn't an internet to refer to for information. Most of what I learned was from trial and error, and one or two friends that were running then also. When I got started, it was just before the muscle car era so I was able to get in on that. I applaud Stan for building something different.

Dang Smiths Bros sold me 16 pushrods!
Now I have spares for pushrods that never bend.
Dang it,

I got the rocker arms on today and did some adjusting.
PO milled all the rocker stands off, I guess he cracked some.
So it has aluminum supports and longer bolts.
Not all the threads are square, I was trying to use some studs instead of bolts.
That didn't work too good on the off center bosses.
I added some shims to the Goodman Roller Rockers I am going to run.

Anyway I might try to start it tomorrow.
Nervous as a hooker in church.
Cat in a room full of rocking chairs.
I could go on.......

Thanks Bill.

Man they have an aluminum head and a much bigger bore.
Like fishing with M80's.
So easy a caveman could do it.
Even Ronnie Millsap could see that.
I could go on......

Looking good Stan. Good luck with the first fire up. Don't sweat it. No problem. Piece of cake. I could go on...

Looks like a Beast. It'll fire on first touch of the key. It'll scare the crap out of you the first time out. I could go on....

LOL, you guys are reading my posts!
I was feeling like Tom Hanks on a Desert Island!
I won't go on.......

Ok Wilson, et all!
2 Videos today.
First one is a short walk around with some details.

Second one is what I have been working on since it quit last year.

They are short, but progress never the less.

I checked under my VC today and didn't see enough oil.
I pulled bolt # 7 and there was no oil in the rocker shaft.
So I looked at the aluminum pedestal and I didn't like the little notch at the bottom.
So I enlarged it and ran it again, it was better, I had oil but maybe not enough.
So I enlarged it again and I will run it again tomorrow.

Fixed it.
Rocker shaft was full of oil, that was what I was looking for.

Bad weather coming to Texas, you guys down wind stay safe.

No not this weekend, maybe next.
What have you changed for this year?
1. New hood hinges and reinstalled hood
2. Still working on EFI tuning, but improved over last year. In general have gained .1 in ET
3. Chassis tuning changes and retarded timing in attempt to keep from spinning at tracks with bad prep like Little River.
4. Added LED headlights, mainly for return road and driving in the pits.
5. New windshield.

You’re making nice progress!

Engine sounds good…….and I’m surprised at how docile it seems/sounds with that big of a cam in it.

Looking forward to some track reports.

The sound doesn't come through the camera very well.
It sound about the same as before.
I think the Webers tone it down.

I ran the engine for about 15 minutes today.
Everything went well.
Now for oil change and get ready for some track time.
I still need to seat the rings with some half throttle passes.

Just read the entire thread, this car is a full time job.
