My 66 dart , this is where i started from . rusty . torn . leaking . needed a good home . Plans are to make it run and drive to take the kids to town for ice cream , wont be a resto or probably done to factory specs , but look forward to seeing progress.

first step is to fix the leaking freeze plugs in the block , so out came the engine, stripped down all new plugs all new gaskets . odometer showed 96k ran well just leaked . it will be removed and rebuilt again at a later date . . i think a total strip down is a project killer once they come apart , time ,money ,life gets in the way and they stall out. so this will be in stages . so i can have some fun with it as i go along . . Engine was painted and reinstalled , with a new radiator .

While working on the floor , the radiator arrived and after installed , and filled . the heater core let go . So new heater core ,box reseal , and general cleaning . no pics of the heater core work (lazy )

Waiting for carpet , and seat coverts , . found out there is a 9 month wait for the covers ( Bummed ) . i need to call around and see if any A body for any year are available for a loaner set . or i may have to sew my own up . i have some experience in auto upholstery

Not to bad for my first month of ownership .... prior to this one many years ago i had a 70 road runner and a 67 satellite

I was dealing with the same thing and got a small local business to take care of my seats. She did an outstanding job and I like to support small local business

Any comments welcome , That's how i learn from the experts , telling me the right way . ( i have thick skin )

Take your time, tackle the projects as they arise, build it to your taste, and most of all enjoy taking it out.

Looking great!!!! I also had a local shop stitch my seats with my material (from SMS in Oregon). They also have seat cover sets. You might want to check with them. Keep those pics coming!

You work really fast! Makes me feel bad, since I’ve been working on my GoGo coupefor 5-6 years, and I’m retired. I have had to replace a little more metal, however. Both quarters to the jambs, trunk surround, rear cross piece between the sub frames and outer valance, floor, wheel houses, shock mounts, half a sub frame, package tray and lower window surround, and… recently the entire top, windshield surround and upper cowl. Probably should have crushed it. Starting to think I may not live long enough to finish it, or won’t be able to drive it.

carpet is in . working on the seats ... the seat covers i ordered from legendary are 9 months out .. So i substituted a loaner set that classic had in stock , a 66 satellite set , they will be replaced with the correct set in 9 months

Made the first trip around the block on saturday . runs great , drives nice ,, tempature gauge does not work . even after installing the updated voltage limiter .

starting a parts needed list ,,, rear seat lower frame ,, door sill trim ,, speedometer gauge parts ,,

So with legendary interiors 9 months out , i sewed up a quick replacement seat back . Did not come out as well as i would have liked , but is passing until i can have a real set

You're doing a great job! If it were me, I wouldn't even bother changing the front bucket seat covers. Yeah, you had to improvise....but the result looks as good or even better than if it were the correct covers. Keep up the good work!

Progress , Installed a new Waldrons exhaust system , and a new fuel line . Found out I have the wrong front bumper ( Thanks The knowledge here is priceless). I have the correct one , waiting on brackets . Next up is to replace the drivers fender , and install 4 barrel intake parts. I will try to take exhaust pics next time it is on the lift .

Found the right leaf spring was cracked in 3 spots .. installed Espo springs , stock height .
