very cool, I wonder if you can invert the motor inside the squirrel cage for those of us with taller heads and or valve covers??

won`t work w/ raised port victors or victor knock offs, in a 68 barracuda. a little over 1/2" head to firewall clearance, w/ the taller head actually covering part of the hole. u can go to a hotrod heater under the dash tho, for defrosters and a little heat.

I'll scheme up something or some way or just go w/ a hotrod heater

I looked into that I could not fit it in the heater box, they do have some "pancake motors" also for really tight clearances. My valve covers are cast and pretty high and that mod worked for me.

I went ahead and ordered the motor referenced in this thread. My questions is on the wiring, since it is running from the back of the motor instead of the front like stock, did you run an extra hole through your firewall? Also ,the shaft diameter is a little smaller than stock, at least on the one I got.

im wondering this also..?

Think the cage fit just right on the shaft. No idea new supplier and it is metric?

Its ok. It all worked out. I posted some pictures in my build thread. I just ran the wires through the firewall and put a small spacer in the cage.

Just wanted t say thanks for posting this with the part #. Looks like a great solution.
Getting ready to install the 440 in Jake's Dart in the next week or so!

Check the rotation you might have to switch the wires around if it goes in reverse. Think I did Craig.

Mine's non a/c. Hopefully theres a post in there of one. I would think it would work but cant say for sure . Maybe you can document and post when you do it .

Yeah , I have about 3/4'' between my head and firewall ---------------

I just picked up on your blower motor fix. It looks exactly what I need for my Big Block (no room for the blower motor issue). Can you tell me where I can get this shorter motor. Thanks in advance Ron D

Did anyone do a write up how to wire this new motor? Banging my head against the wall
