I'll be purchasing a new fuel pump for my 1974 Duster 225 slant six engine. The FSM says that the correct one for my car is a Carter MS-4844S. The Carter website no longer has this pump, but says to use a Carter M60577 (see photo from Carter website). If I go to NAPA, will I just be buying a re-branded Carter pump? Which brand would you recommend? Should I stick with the Carter pump? Thanks.

X2 on Carter pumps. If by some miracle you can find one of the rebuildable ones they are well worth snapping up.

Thanks to all who weighed in. Just bought a new Carter pump and it looks great. BTW, had a conversation with a tech rep on the Carter help line. He confirmed what I suspected all along. The NAPA branded pumps are made by Carter, so if you buy a NAPA pump it's actually a Carter. No different than the one you buy directly from Carter.
