Something you never want to see on a scan of your wife's lung

Thanks for the update, Rick.

As I've said, there are continued prayers coming your way. And more support whenever you need it. Stay strong, brother, and give Linda a hug for me.

Hard to believe that with all the techno stuff they can cram into one little cell phone that you can carry in your pocket, that the genius's of the world can't put ALL their heads together and beat this terrible disease once and for all. I know...there are so many kinds of cancer, but they all have very similar characteristics. Chemo seems so primitive and destructive to the human body and so far they haven't come up with anything any better or as effective as of yet. Just doesn't seem right! I've lossed to many family and friends to cancer and it just pisses me off!

Venting here!!

Prayers going out for your wife and your family and to those who area also suffering through this or the loss of a loved one at this time.

UPDATE: Linda & I met with the surgeon today after she had her breathing test. She scored a 93 which impressed the surgeon. He feels confident about the end result from surgery and speculated that her breathing should be about 81 after removal of the upper right lobe. A acceptable number is 40, so that sounds great. This all depends if nothing else is found during the procedure, but at this point i'm happy about what we're hearing. If everything goes as well as expected, there's a good possibility that no chemo or radiation will be required afterwards, just a 4 to 6 week period to get the most function back to breathing, energy levels and pain from the ribs. The surgery is scheduled for Wed. Jan 9. so we have time to process it all and comfort the kids and family that the outcome will be positive. We both are very comforted that the FABO family has our back with your thoughts and prayers. If anything changes i will let you guys know.

Thank you so much, Rick & Linda

Wow, this thread was posted while I was busy and not on line so I totally missed it.

Rick, You are a good man and we know you will take care of Linda. If there is anything I can do let me know. I don't have much extra cash at the moment but I can come up with some if you need it.

Linda, The news of what they can do is very exciting. I pray for absolute and complete removal along with your full recovery. I also pray for the medical team to have the wisdom and skill needed.

Rick and Linda, I will pray for you both daily during this time. God sounds like he already had his hands on this cancer for it to have been found early.

Bill

Continued thanks from both of us for your prayers and support. And ours go right back to all of you. We can all use a good 2013!

Hey, bud.

Heavenly Father, this thread was started by a man who's heart is struggling now to find balance. Balance to know that this disease kills so many, but tempered by the hope of medical science that has progressed to the point that this disease can be beaten.

Father, we come to you now in prayer to lift up Rick and Linda, to hold them and comfort them, to give them the strength they need. They will face trials and joys throughout the process, Father, and we ask that You be with them every step of the way.

Father, we know the ultimate healing lies in You. A healing of the body, a healing of the mind, a healing of the soul. We ask that, now, You bring that healing. Calm them, Father, give them Your resolve, Your courage, and Your peace.

Be with the medical staff, Father, and lend them wisdom and guidance. Help them along the way to offer the proper medical advice and to give make the proper decisions.

We ask this Jesus' name. Amen.

Amen x2!

Well, the time has come. Gotta have Linda at the hospital at 5:30am for surgery. We're in good spirits, but obviously scared at the same time. We've got your prayers, thoughts and concern in the bank so we truly believe a positive outcome will result.

I'll be here for a few, but my wireless adapter took a dump and i only have a dumb phone, so i can only post from home. It may be a while, but i'll update as soon as possible.

Side note: She put a leave of absent's letter in to her supervisor last week along with the required doctor's notes, kinda like kindergarden...lol. Doctor said 5/6 weeks until she'd be full strength, so she put late Feb. for a comeback date. Well, today she went to pick up her recent paycheck and the HR woman told her if she can't be back by Feb. 8th, that she no longer had employment and would have to reapply and she could be rehired if they needed someone and would lose her time served :violent1:, real nice. All i could tell Linda was f'um. Sorry for the mini rant, just needed to get that off my chest.

We both just want to thank you all for being our FABO family, Rick & Linda

Don't blame her one bit for being PO'd. What a sorry *** way to run a place. It's not like this is elective surgery or anything like that. BTW would the HR woman be named Dogbert. (lol) What's the name of this outfit so we can put it on the "Mr. Badguy" list of people not to patronize?

Thanks for the updates. Prayers continue.

Prayers for you and your wife. With God, anything is possible. Keep the faith!
