Gunfight
Rules...

In a gunfight, the most important rule is ..... HAVE A GUN!!!

Shootingadvice from various Concealed Carry Instructors:

If you own a gun, you will appreciate these rules...

If not, you should get one and learn how to use it and learn the rules:

RULES:

A:Gunshave only two enemies: rust and politicians.

B:It’s always better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

C: Copscarry guns to protect themselves, not you.

D:Never let someone or something that threatens you get inside arm’s
length

E:
Never say "I've got a gun." If you need to use deadly force, the
first sound they hear should be the safety clicking off.

F: Theaverage response time of a 911 call is 23 minutes;
the response time of a .357 magnum is 1400 feet per second.

G: The most important rule in a gunfight is:
Always win - there is no such thing as
a fair fight; cheat if necessary.

H: Make your attacker advance through a wall of bullets ...
You may get killed with your own gun, but he'll have to beat you to death with it,‘cause it will be empty.

I: If you're in a gun fight:
Ifyou're not shooting, you should be loading.
If you're not loading, you should be moving.
If you're not moving, you're dead.

J: In a life and death situation, do something ... it may be wrong, but do
something!

K: If you carry a gun, people call you paranoid. Nonsense!
If you have a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about?

L: You can say 'stop' or any other word, but a large bore muzzle
pointed atsomeone's head is pretty much a universal language.

M: Never leave an enemy behind. If you have to shoot, shoot to kill.
In court, yours will be the only testimony.

N: You cannot save the planet, but you may be able to save yourself
and your family.

If you believe in the 2nd Amendment, forward to others you know who also
believe.

reloading" --Thomas Jefferson

If you shoot someone, shoot 3 times, you might miss once

Almost forgot, if you walk into my house uninvited you leave on a stretcher

My wife doesn't like shooting guns with lots of recoil. So I have a .22 with a 15 shot clip for her. I told her to point it in the proper direction and keep pulling the trigger until the gun stopped shooting. She caught on real quick and likes the .22

this is MY opinion on gun use: guns are great for hunting and that is the only use they should have. Hand guns should be ONLY in the hands of law enforcement people and specially not for the average Joe.
Now let the comments begin...

That discussion is for the N&P section. The pot is plenty stirred over there

You really need to attend or participate in an organised cowboy shoot or other competitive shoot.... you would be amazed at how much fun average joes can have!!

All I have to say to you is this. If just one armed honest citizen had been in that theater..........................it might have been a different story.

And if I REALLY wanted to do someone in, a handgun is not needed.

Yes! People has a misconception of gun owners. That would change if they spent a little time getting to know gun owners.

Right on!

I like the 44 myself, the wife just moved up to the 38:-D

.45 with hollow points. Anything smaller=worthless

Well, you can't go wrong with the ol .44 Magnum, it's a little smaller than the .45 but it does the job just as well :D

That being said, my .45 is loaded with Hydrashok Hollow Points. I care enough to send only the best :D Warning shots don't apply, too expensive to give them a $2 Warning Shot.

One of my family members asked me once why I have a .45, I said "Cause I didn't see any .50 Magnums for sale the day I bought the .45" :D (To be honest, I didn't see any .454's for sale at the time either) Followed by this comment "A Half Inch of Lead sends a better message than 3/8 inch of lead" :D

I would bet his opinion would change if he were assaulted, whipped out his celphone and called 911 and the cops showed up 13 minutes later. Always remember: "When seconds count, the police are just minutes away."

The most dangerous gun is the one that is not loaded and you can't get to. 4 loaded guns in my house. Bet you can't quess where they are before i can get to one.
Some times 50 shots from a 22 is better than 6 from a 38:hiding::hiding:

I do believe, you are way out numbered here! :coffee2:

Better to hit with a 9mm than to miss with a 45....same general concept

Maybe you've seen the news of the oklahoma couple murdered in New Mexico while traveling with their camper trailer. Gary and Linda Haas. They were good friends of mine. They both were gun nuts. Linda was a tool maker. She once made a flare gun shoot 12 ga shells ( you only wanted to shoot that thing once). My point is Gary had a gun with him when they were kidnapped, but it was in a lock box in the console of the truck. It did him no good. You must carry your gun with you. If he would have had it on him they would probably still be alive today.

Tough, but good lesson to be learned from that. Praying for all affected.

And this is why gun control laws are out of control. Years ago in Idaho, there was no legal way to conceal carry, practically speaking. You either had to become a criminal to protect yourself, or risk this very sort of thing. I have to have a Utah non resident permit because WA state won't accomodate Idaho permits. There is no legal way into Oregon, unless you get an OR permit, and there IS no legal way for CA.

I once pulled down on a guy in CA, completely COMPLETELY illegal on my part. This was in the early 70's in the San Diego area.

"Back then" the girls used to "hide" their boyfriends so I knew this. Some "chick" was hitchhiking, and I thought I was paying attention. He started way ahead of me, came up from the ditch or an abutment from behind the right rear quarter.....blind spot.

She opens the door, gets the seat forward, and I turned around and there he was, crawling through into the rear seat with a big duffel bag and a knife. I have no idea what his intentions were and I didn't ask

I had my 357....which I still have to this day, down beside the door drop by the seat. Swung my left arm up and over and the next thing he knows, he's lookin' down the largest hole he's ever seen in his life.

When he backed out, I just threw it in gear and took off. the door slammed from inertia. After I was 1/2 mile or so down the road, I threw his bag out and beat feet.
