Is anyone planning on buying the Hellcat? I know there is no locked down price yet. My dealer has been bugging me to put down a deposit on one and says they will be MUCH less then 75k. I am seriously thinking about selling EVERYTHING and getting one. Well maybe just the GTS and my SRT8. Anyone one else thinking about buying one?

Working on it. Was also told to expect the price to come in at $55k. My dealer will not be slapping any sort of addendum on these cars either. I'm sure some greedy dealers will. Doesn't sound like there will be many different options to choose from, besides color, which will keep the prices the same across the board. White is my first choice.

Yeah white would be awesome or the granite color. I have a black SRT8 and it is very difficult to keep clean. I am thinking about it pretty hard.

Same here....even at 55k that is damn near double what I paid for 5 acres of land....with a well/power/septic/phone service...folks are insane spending that kinda money.....must be nice to have deep pockets...

I will, as soon as I win the lottery. I was close last night. I had 1 out of 6 numbers!

I wish I could I guess I'm stuck with my '14 R/T and my old 'Cuda. But, I feel blessed with what I have. Oh and I'm sure dealers will be sticking mark ups on them for at least the first year.

I'm not willing to spend that kind of money to find out that the drive train is under designed.... and then fight them to fix it under warranty... Been there done that too many times with Chrysler...

There was one Hellcat Challenger at the Chrysler at Carlisle show this weekend. They announced pricing would be released this week and we would be "pleasantly surprised".
If it is around $55k.... I would be thinking very hard on getting one.

Why would you have to fight them to fix it? Unless you have modified it, then I can see there being an issue. They have tested this car for well over 2 years with this configuration. Pretty sure they have it dialed in. Do you know something we don't?

I'm not willing to spend 55k on a car either, but a run of the mill family car will set you back at least 25k in 2014. Look what people are paying for Trucks today. 55k would be a deal for that car.

Been buying Chrysler products since the 60's. Have had many "battles" with them over warranty because they took short cuts and they try to pass the repair cost on to us....

I'm sick of them falling apart before/after 100 k. :violent1:

I'm sick of fighting them to warranty my cars..... :banghead:

We pick up our 2011 Shelby Mustang GT500 from the dealer on Monday with a new clutch warrantied under 16 k miles. I couldn't believe that they would warranty a clutch, but when the owner's son showed me in writing, I bought the extra service plan. I don't have to do anything on the car for 7 years 70 k miles, including oil changes and wiper blades. I figured that my son would burn up at least one clutch. They warrantied it.

I wanna see Chrysler do that. :protest:

I could go on and on telling you horror stories with Chrysler trying to skimp out of paying warranty..... :evil3:

They don't put enough miles on them in their pre launch testing to find all of the problems. I'm sick of being their guinea pig, at my expense.

I'm sure someone will, probably my wife, with my assistance. lol

If I wanted to spend, There is a 92' Viper with 739 actual miles on it for 39,000 in Hemmings. I would like that better!

Hummm, We are all buying it for the motor/Performance I am sure of that.... So here is a thought....I want one with no air conditioning, navigation, power window, locks, or even a radio.... Just Steelie wheels...no otions, gimme the car with the performance and of course the mandatory safety stuff... Back to the days when we could "BUY" a car with out deep pockets! I think these Hell cats are great but lets be real who can afford it? A striped down hot rod (RoadRunner idea) and get these things out there! IM not driving in the winter...Im not driving every day....I just wanna feel the MOPAR power on a cruise night!

Heard the list price will be a little over 71k and each dealer will get 1

Now this is from a friend at a Chrysler dealer car show a few weeks ago

I would love to have one, but no way would I pay that much money for a car unless money starts growing on the trees out front or I win the lotto
