Thank you for the help thus far. Wondering what ratios. Picked up a 73 Duster with a 3 gear. Getting ready for a 4 speed swap.2B, so from a 1972 Hamtramck built car.
3604 on the final assembly date? It is hard to read in your photo so if so, June 9, 1971
The 1972 model year started mid-July 1971.
I like the speed too.I have a 1970 Valiant with a 3-speed, it drives awesome just the way it is.
Thanks Dan. The rear end is a 8.25 with 3.93:1 sure grip. When I called your shop, the fellow told me that there are no parts available for an A230 any longer.72 A-body 4sp, if not changed, it would be 2.47 close ratio gearset
Yeah, very little anymore. No gaskets or small parts kits, one of the bearings is different from the standard 307 also. Gaskets can be made if you buy material, doubt I will make them, not enough demand. Thanks Dan. The rear end is a 8.25 with 3.93:1 sure grip. Hence the reason I am going to the 4 speed. Cool car with the 3 gear, but it's getting sloppy. As always thank you for your input and expertise.Yeah, very little anymore.
