10's on $5,000 ?

The weight thing is why I'm thinking an older a body...
Just nothing around here for A-bodies. I mean, even a older 4 door dart would be a rust bucket underneath if it was cheap. My best hope is like a Diplomat, or something. They are usually really solid and can be found pretty cheap - solid but uglies with a tired or slipping tranny for 400 bucks sounds great.

He didnt say it had to run 10s more than once ! Lol
1 pass then he is done.
And there goes 5K into a rusty ugly 4-door beater...

not rusty... just ugly. LOL.. We'll get the best looking ugly girl we can :D :D

Lol.. so now you're looking for a rust free Mopar with good front suspension...
I thought smoking that stuff was still illegal in your part of the country...

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I just might think a beater that runs low 11s or high 10s is pretty damn good looking. Just like I might think that an below average looking woman with a great job, great mechanic skills and a true love for Mopar muscle cars was downright beautiful.

they legalized it this year, but sorry, not me :) quarter rust or fender rust won't be a deal breaker, but the structure (frame, etc) must be rust free. I missed a rust free, excellent driving diplomat a bit ago. 1000 bucks. Waiting for the next one.... whatever it may be... '65 coronet 4 door? who knows.

Picture a new GT 'stang, or SS camaro, or Scat Pack trying to get around a ugly 4 door diplomat at 55 mph and can't... LOL. Yep, look'n better by the minute!!!!

How about putting that big block in one of your two dusters like you've always wanted to do... Maybe the 318 will come out of the garage more than once this year... You're going to run out of land to keep all these vehicles.. wait a minute you already have..

either of my Dusters would blow the budget as soon as I announce I'm using one. Besides, getting rid of weight on a Diplomat (per say) would not be as caring :)

So you're trying to sell this for 5000 when you're done?..

For some reason, I want to see you score an eighties fifth avenue to do this with. Put some 4.88s and sticky tires under the back and your partway there!:D

lol.. where did this come from?? Maybe I transfer the entire drive train into a Duster. Or maybe I just keep it for funs :D

Where did the $5,000 budget come from...
It's obvious, after these few years, you haven't figured me out :(.. lol
Two things brought about 5000:
  1. My greatest challenges are to myself.
  2. And, I'm just attracted to "roadkill" type of builds.

I have a 440 block that would be perfect for this. When they pulled the engine at the junkyard they used a highlift and ripped a hole in the block where the motor mount is. Several ways of fixing it but it would be perfect for guys that pour their blocks with concrete

I don't think you can do it.
NOT trying to be a poo poo on your parade but 10's requires the HP for sure but you have to get it to the ground and stick.
so in my head, SS spring at the vary least(do they make them for a diplomat?) then some racing shocks will have to be used and tuned. Extra weight on the noise will need to be addressed

So what parts do you have already that don't need to be thrown into the budget.

I can't believe someone else hasn't said it yet but strong 440 and a lot of nitrous.

I'm pretty sure this car will smell like rodent feces the rest of its life. I'm apprehensive to pull it into the shop for it's parting out.
