MOPAR MUSCLE IS NO MORE

-
That explains why I did not get a renewal letter!!!

I did get a publication card for "MOPAR ACTION"

I guess after these mopar rags publish the same stories of the same models and same tech stuff, for how many decades? , they run out of subscribers.
Maybe someone will do a rag on the modern muscle? Like I care. ha

It's not been a good rag for many years. I got tired of seeing the utramega $200k builds and ads ads ads.. The tech lacked tech. At least MA is good for a laugh, but is wearing down too.

It was all modern stuff that's why i didn't renew.

I thought they announced this about a month or so ago.
Oh well, Mopar action is still the best mag out there anyway...........

Yes, T.E.N. Publishing was producing twenty-two magazines. Has ceased publication of nineteen of them. Three will go on line. Mopar Muscle is not one of them.

No Loss there. Quite a few magazines were stopped recently. Saw a big list somewhere a few months ago

Preach on, brother Joe. The only magazine I really ever liked was Car Craft back in the 70s through about 1990. After that, it changed too. Their problem is they all concentrate on rides that could be built by some of these professional shops......like 150k dollar stuff. Who can afford that? Precious few. I liked Car Craft because they did stuff like that Dart they built. Junkyard 440 with bolt ons. short gears with slicks. They ran out of time and had to use two big hose clamps to hold the transmission to the cross member. Car still went high 10s. Then there was the junkyard 360 they threw in a Duster actually TRYING to blow it up with more and more nitrous. It never blew. It just kept running faster. LOL See, stuff like that is where it's at. Stuff like Tony Defeo used to write about and experience. That's the real reality of hod rodding. Anybody with money can build one with a checkbook. It takes skill and determination to build with a limited budget. People get tired of seeing things they can only dream about. They want to see things that they can actually duplicate, on their budget, in their own driveways and garages.

This is why I stopped reading. I always felt it was too purist with nothing new in them half the time.

I too received a letter from TEN telling me they were stopping publication but no offer of refund for remaining subscription. A few days later I got an offer to subscribe to motor trend (not happening) and they said I could save 200 some dollars on each years subscription. I figure if I subscribe for enough years I'll save enough for a nice crate motor for the Barracuda. LOL....

I never got a letter, stumbled on it on the internet.

I liked the magazine when Randy Bolig was editor. Back in 08 or so. He did a Dart Sport from scratch, a Valiant post with a stroker and a 70 Superbee. He was a car guy and a hot rodder.

Those car mags are about dreams.. the only dreams I care about are the one I can afford and make happen, like RRR says.

Hemmings Muscle Muscle mag has been around awhile, quality paper, and pics, decent write ups, cheap costs. it is my mag now days. I enjoy reading about brand X and Y too.

It's brutal and will continue to be for Magazine printers... Economics, generation change, and the internet is eating away at those guys. I am in Printing and am glad we do minimal work in that market. Most won't survive it when the dust settles....

I grew tired of all of them some time ago, I only subscribed to MCG for the T shirt but I am done with that, when it runs out I am done with all of them.

On this note its worth mentioning that I once wrote to MM and suggested to them to bring in reader articles written by actual readers/subscribers about something of interest (their car, how they did this or that, etc.) as some of the gun magazines once did. The concept is that if you get something printed, you get paid like $150 and it got people to write very interesting articles, the magazine gets a bunch of articles to run as they deem necessary (such as if a particular copy was about brakes, they would run a reader article about that as well as their own from their staff writers which usually is sponsored). Point is that the reader got to see someone like them as well as perhaps a more expensive or sophisticated approach. MM responded and said something to the effect of it would not meet their editorial standards....

I haven't got a mag from them since December are they gonna refund us current subscribers that paid for the whole year??

I never knew he left mopar muscle I always liked Randy's work. His valiant effort article was one of the articles that inspired me on my dart. That was a long time ago.
