My sons 65 valiant was originally "Light Blue". At some point it was painted flat black, then brought back to it's "original" color by yet another owner with a cheap single stage paint job. I have the paperwork for that work and it has the paint code as "95605" and the paint named "Light Blue". A google shows 181-95605 DuPont as having a very similar color (full disclosure, I'm colorblind). 181-95605 has a Chrysler paint code of DT8209, where as Chrysler's code for "Light Blue" in 1965 appears to be DT3876. The DuPont code for DT3876 is 93-97385.... Ugh...
Anyway, have I mentioned I'm colorblind? Does it seem like the body shop just did a color chip match and came up with a different paint?
The reason I care about this is we're replacing the windshield and need to touch up the frame and some other spots. I'd like to, for now, just get a spray bomb (don't throw anything) mixed up for this.
I know this is all over the place, any help would be appreciated.
Thoughts?
