Had an issue at the track today. 1st pass went wheels up like always but when I shifted to 2nd it acted like it was in neutral and hit the rev limiter. I shifted to 3rd, everything fine and got off the track.
Went through all 3 gears on the way to the trailer and all was fine. At the trailer, dipstick had no fluid on it. It was 1 1/2 quarts low! Drained some when I got home, no leaks, no odor or bad color, no metal particles on the magnet.
Filled to correct level and all seems fine. SO HERE IS MY THEORY:
Since it was 1 1/2 quarts low (stupid me for not checking) I'm wondering if you are doing a significant wheels up, if the fluid can slosh away from the pickup when the wheels come down.
(727 torquflite, reverse manual valve body, lots of high HP internals and pressure cranked up)
