1969 Barracuda formula S 340-4 speed

It might be too expensive to save, but... sometimes bad decisions can be fun or prevent us from making other bad decisions. I would call it a parts car that gives you an excuse to buy a project car, lol.

I had the same exact color combo in my 69 in 1984 but it was a 383 -s 4 speed. I never seen that interior combo since
 
Every once in a while I see a rust free '69 fastback shell come up for sale, usually in Georgia or somewhere down south. Not very often but they do pop up every once in a while. Around a year or two back saw a 318 4 spd fastback '69 missing most of its parts but was complete rust free rolling shell. My car has a ton of bondo and fiberglass in both of its 1/4s so those cars tend to peak my interest make me say hmmmmm.......

Yeah and Deluxe interior too. Car must have been stunning back in its day. And embarrassed many a big block cars that is for sure. Someone was burning some tires grabbing gears with that bad boy back in the day.

Yep that’s how the car went on fire spinning tires the tire drivers side was still on it all melted to the belts… had to use a sledge hammer to break the studs off. Then use studs from other side to get her home..

Rear lower seat has not ever been removed still bolted in… tried to just pop it out front came out out rear still bolted build sheet should be found tomorrow….. Carpet still under front half of rear seat
 
I have one almost exactly like that in Bronzefire, but in lots better condition, which doesn't say much cuz it still needs a lotta work.
Well exactly is not correct;
mine left the factory with an automatic, and the Second owner whom I bought the car from, told me that the First owner had wanted a nearly impossible to procure "cuda", so the dealer obliged by converted a Formula S .
The tunnel wasn't even welded in...... which I didn't find out until 1997, about 15 years after I bought it. The shell has been stored outside, under the trees, jacked up 3 feet off the ground, on dirt, in full shade for most of the years since the original engine blew a rodbearing in about 84/85.
Whereas most of the rest of it has been in my shed or shop, or pirated for my 68 Formula S clone, which was waaaaay cheaper to bring back.
Too much for me to get into, at my 71 years.

Could be something to consider….
Starting the search…. Prefer the fitment of what this is will exhaust the search…. By early summer then who knows where this will result. Save sell or whatever’s the will of what was unburdened what has been and imagine what can be. Hahahahahah
 
Or a 2-door Scamp, but those are small-tub cars .

I think I might have found the exact perfect donor
 
Today……. Put a new battery in…. A used carburetor from shed…. To crank and check oil pressure….. behold!!!! 60 pounds cold did not start but did a little burble… dual points so I have to file and set have minimal spark. Once running I’ll make a video.. looks promising!!!!
 
Make sure the ground wire in your dual point is intact. It could be the cause if you have weak or no spark.
 
Look how full that fender tag is! I'd keep and fix that one. You know how they say to eat an elephant. One bite at the time.
