NHL 2024-25

Jets will have to play a much better team game tomorrow than last time they faced the Leafs. I have to work so I won't be able to watch it, make do with the recap.

So the Wild can beat the Maple Leafs, at ScotiaBank, no less, but they can't beat Utah, either at home or on the road?

And Kaprizov is out for at least 4 more weeks....

I'm getting pretty sick of this season.

Makes you wonder, doesn't it? The Jets had their hands full against Utah as well, yet they go into Toronto and wipe the ice with the Leafs. At least the Wild are still in a playoff spot.

Yup!

And Utah was all over the Penguins last night, at least for the first, and part of the second periods (I had to go to bed), but somehow the Penguins came out with the win.

Part of me hopes the Wild doesn't make it to the playoffs, as I'm sick of their annual "One & Done" series shenanigans.

Hell! I may just become a Jets fan, as they're the next closest team, geographically speaking...

Strange season, as far as I'm concerned.

The new coach(Berube) bump is wearing off. Leafs win 1 or 2, lose 1 or 2. No consistency at all. Stollarz got hurt and is due back soon, but goaltending hasn't lost them games. Knies was just finding his role before injury and Tavares was having a heckuva year too. All teams face injuries, suck it up.

There are rumours the Canucks and Leafs might make a trade given Vancouver needs to offload either Miller or Pettersson since they can’t get along with each other. Maybe one of the ‘cour four’ gets moved now?

To be clear, I’m not a Canucks fan (just have to say that since a member here assumed I was since I live in Vancouver and wouldn’t stop harping on it. The ignore feature is great).

Yeah, heard that as well. No thanks neither of those for a core four player. GM in Van should be ball kicked for signing EP to THAT contract. Miller would be a good fit but 5-6 a year tops. Sucks cuz Van looked like they were rounding a corner last year....

Yeah even my friends who are diehard Canuck fans know that EP40 contract is a bad one. His style of play is very similar to Johnny Gaudreau (RIP), visible in the regular season and invisible in the playoffs.

Oh as a Leafs fan i would be remiss if I didn't bring up the Booins
Or do i need to? Love that POS Mushmouth failing lol....Pasta in a Leafs jersey would be a nice fit.

Wow. I hope some of you guys just caught Fleury's last game to his hometown of Montreal. The Wild over the Habs in a shut-out, but regardless of that, the whole arena was chanting Fleury's name near the end of the game. And multiple standing ovations. Pretty cool to watch.

Dang, missed it. Habs were his team as a youngster(won't hold that against him) lol.
Was he in net?

For those not watching, 5-2 'Peg making Booins their *****. In Boston.... :drama:
Final score Jets 6, Bruins 2.
I wasn't able to watch the game, but I'll watch the recap later.

Marc Andre Fleury has always been first class. I remember seeing him on Counting Cars when he was playing for VGK. Hehad a pretty sweet 71 or 72 Chevelle convertible built.
Always happy to see Montreal lose, especially at home.

Pretty good game between the two top teams tonight, Jets leading 3-2 over the Capitals after 2 periods. Been a good pace to the game so far, only 1 shot on goal for Ovechkin.

Ovechkin bagged one to tie the game at 4 with 7:39 left in the 3rd. Damn these two would make an amazing Stanley Cup final series!

Hartman did a no-no in that one. I'll say 3 games.
Leafs hold Mcjesus off(barely) with 4-3 win. Offside challenge after the "tying" goal for Oilers called back.

No surprise there. Didn’t watch it, wasn’t home, but still…..

In other news, local golf courses are now accepting t-time reservations.
I was watching the Jets/Caps game of course, but in the intermissions there were replays of some of the highlights, and a lowlights or two. I just read that Ryan Hartman has been 'offered' an in person hearing after his very foolish attack on Tim Stutzle. Not a good look for the team or Hartman.

Damn! I didn't watch the game, and thus I didn't know of this until now.

Watching the replay(s) makes me ill, and as far as I'm concerned: Fire his *** (Hartman).

I have no "beef" with the occasional fight during a game, as it has it's purpose, but I've often felt that the NHL would be better respected, by the general public, if they instituted a rule stating that any player who injures another player, and causes that player to miss games, deserves to "sit out" the same amount of games as the injured player. Break a guys nose and make him miss two games? Same to you, buddy! Give the other guy a concussion and he's out for the season? Enjoy playing golf, asshole! (And should your team win the Cup, your name doesn't go on it!)

And if he knowingly causes serious injury (which may be the case here), not only should the offender be benched, but he also should be penalized in some way financially. Make him pay the others guys hospital bills? Maybe, I don't know....

I love the game, and as I said, I have no issue with the random fights that get the crowd going. I know they serve a purpose, as does probably every other person who reads this thread, as we all know they're not intended to cause serious harm

But the NHL has to realize they have an image problem, and this kind of **** (Hartman, et al) has to stop.

100% agree!
