As titile sugests does anyone have pics of the hooker black heart shorty headers around the manual steering box.
Whats the clearance like air gap wise as i have to have 15mm or (half inch) clearance from pipes to box for engineering purposes.
When fitting the headers is this done with steering column removed as well.

Any pics be super helpful

I will try and get you some pictures later tonight.

The steering column has to be out to install them, it goes through the headers. And the Holley instructions say to bolt the DS header to the motor before dropping the motor in, too.

Ugh, pictures aren't going to happen tonight. I will try and get some tomorrow right after work and get them posted.

Sorry.

What state i am in WA 6.4 in a 72 road runner almost to inspection stage i have full length but i think they are too close
Have a set of cast iron hooker they look very restrictive internally power steering

Legend mate!!! Really appreciate the pics looks like more clearance than i thought
I'm late to the party here, but don't forget that Dion is using Holley spool mounts as well. The motor is more forward than any other mount.

I think the OP is using the same Holley mounts? But good point either way. Anybody else reading this could get the idea that the motor is in the stock location and this would be bad info for them.

That shot from the top looking down on the steering box makes it pretty obvious that these headers almost certainly won't work without the Holley mounts. The motor is about 1.75" forward of stock with the Holley mounts and that picture makes me think you would have to be at least 1.25" forward to clear the box. But the flange to firewall clearance makes me wonder if it could even move back that much.

It's definitely a system and works well together but probably not so much with other manufacturer parts.

Yep i am all Holley as got the mounts and 904 mount for few hundred bucks when they were doing clearance. Have the shorty pipes and sump ill probably run the holley in tank pump and terminator as well.
I have seen the headaches swapping and changing kits does

Good to know as I purchased the Holley spool mounts & headers for my '73 K member swapped '71 Duster! But I have the Flaming River manual 16.1 box. Hmmm.
