greatest rock n roll front men.......

-
maybe not rock and roll but you have to admit James Brown, the Godfather Of Soul, Hardest Working Man in Show Business, Mr. Dynamite could be the best front-man of all bands, all time. He elevated fronting a band to an art form that no one has yet exceeded.

On that note, George Clinton. Only he could pull being that funky and still kick that much ***! Besides, who doesn't bob their heads to 'We Want the Funk'? :-D

cant rember his last name but roland "rolle" from the rockits are pure rock n roll but not as well known

Like em or not you cannot leave Paul McCartney or John Lennon off of this list. Remember the Beatles were one of the most innovative bands of all time.

Scott Weiland,Jim morrison,Robert Plant are a couple that come to mind when I think of theatrical and still unique, killer vocal ability.

Always been one of my favs...James Douglas Morrison.

Daultry and Townsend will be on the half time show during the superbowl. How about Vanzant with Skynard? Tom Jones???? Elglebert Humperdink???? Jon Anderson of the Police, "Owner of a lonely heart". Is it Knoffler with Dire Straits? Very solid. Your turn.
Small Block

Mr. Mojo Risin, AKA Jim Morrison. What about the King? Elvis Arron Presley

I definitely had them in mind. The Beatles are in my top 2 of all time. However they shared the front man duties and I don't want to leave out George either. So for that reason I didn't include them. They would be in the top of other categories.8)

A few more....

Dio?......oh hell yeah!!.....and they say he invented that two-finger metal "horns" thingy, like Beavis and Butthead do......lol..

Ian Gillian is another really personal favorite of mine.....IMO, he kind of invented that kind of later....heavy metal wailing scream...check it out!

And....Steven Tyler.....OMG, that should be another Wikipedia entry under rock icon. I've always liked Aerosmith more than Led Zep also.....

Freddy Mercury.....great frontman....showman....but...to me, not a full-on hardcore rock and roller. I like Queen, but I don't think that was the image they were going after anyway.

Hey....I thought of mentioning James Brown too....that dude was bad-***.

It`s hard to say who`s the best frontman in rock-n-roll, as I mentioned earlier I like Steven Tyler of Aerosmith a lot. Though he`s not the greatest singer he`s very engaging to watch. Regardless of whether they`re talented as musicians or not, there are many frontmen that come to mind that are just hard to take your eyes off when they perform. Anybody who`s seen some of these guys will have to agree. Here`s a few:

Mick Jagger- The Stones
David Lee Roth (1st generation)- Van Halen
Paul Stanley- Kiss
Freddie Mercury- Queen
Jim Dandy- Black Oak Arkansas
Axl Rose- Guns-n-Roses ..........yeah, I know
Jim Morrison- The Doors
Vincent Furnier ...yup that`s his name- Alice Cooper
Anthony Kedis- Red Hot Chili Peppers
Michael Hutchence- INXS
Johnny Rotten- Sex Pistols
Scott Weiland- STP

paul stanley number 1. besides him i would have to say... well he wasnt rock till the 90's but GLEN DANZIG! AND I HAVNT SEEN ANYONE SAY VINCE NEIL? AND OF COURSE ONE OF THE BEST 94 AND EARLYER JAMES HETFEILD.

Last I heard, David Coverdale was to be Zeppelin's new singer, as Plant no longer wanted to do anything with the band. Wonder what ever came of that. They even had Jason Bonham lined up to fill daddy's spot on the skins too.
