I am so close to finishing my project and i have reached a standstill. I have the following things left to do and I need some encouragement (ie harassment) to get it done so that I can drive it to the Nationals!
1) Front seats covered ( I have the Legendary covers and foam),
2) Flush, bleed and adjust the brakes,
3) Install the seats, door panels, and steering wheel,
4) Torque the driver's side exhaust manifold,
5) Finish mounting the sway bar,
6) Install the chrome badging on the front fenders,
7) Install the front valance, grill, and headlights,
and
8) Get the front end aligned.
I also am yet to fire the engine from a rebuild, in which I will then need to check all the fluids, especially the trans and it is rebuilt also.

FOLKS, PLEASE RIDE MY :bootysha:!!!!!

Get yur lazy azz in gear!!!! Am I gonna hafta send a couple of girl scouts down there to finish it for ya???

How was that???

Maybe I rode your :bootysha: alittle to rough on that last one... Hey, atleast you have most everything to finish yours... I'm gonna have to cut- fab and scroung for the next few years to finish my valiant....

Get the mechanicals done first and foremost, then worry about the fit and finish if you have time/money left..

If you get it to the point where it runs and drives with no bugs, who cares as long as you can attend the nats.
There is always next time for the judging.

I went through 8 years of this standstill crap and believe me it made me a very patient person since I did not have the money to do a quick resto so I got real used to standstills lasting years not days.

I tried to find something motivational from R. Lee Ermey to post...but dang it, this is a family site...:-D

OK!!! It's time to get the engine and trans checked out 8)and get it roll'in
Torque the driver's side exhaust manifold, Install the front valance, grill, and headlights then Install the seats, door panels, and steering wheel and cover them after you have the engine fired up and broke in and check for any fluid leaks
Drive it a few times and enjoy installing the new seat covers and int parts after the dirty work in dun :happy10: then do your sway bay :-D
Remember to enjoy the time you get to spend with your MoPar
Found one ramenth

I hope I did not go to far bamacuda, I could not help myself bud 8)

I seen that commercial for the 1st time last night...laughed my damn *** off!! Hey Bama, I agree with above posts, get the mechanical done and enjoy it, then get to the purty stuff!! All seems fairly straight forward stuff. Get 'er dun!!

Sit down in a quiet space ,pour yourself a nice drink, plan your strategy, and get out there and get er done!!8) BTW,we want pics.

OK, I'm going to the Nats, and if I don't see this car up on the podium winning class I'm gonna come down there and finish it myself!!!LOL!!! OK, that was a little rough but my words of encouragement are... Take your time and enjoy finishing it up. Whether you meet your deadline is secondary to the fact that you enjoy the process. Take it one job at a time and after each job is complete, step back, give yourself a little reward (insert reward here) and enjoy what you have done. It doesn't matter when you finish it up as you'll be enjoying it for years to come. Of course I'd like to see it all finished up at the Nats, but just knowing you are enjoying the process is good enough for me. BTW, if you're reading this you ain't working on 'er, now get back in there and git 'er dun!!! (why did I say that, I hate that saying. Sorry!!!)Good luck on the project, Geof

i.m right there too, just got back from pull a part with little stuff. now i need to go install some stuff. my friend took my carb. to work to drill out idle screw that broke off. then need to finish shifter install. mount ext. manifolds. pull gas tank 10 year old gas in there. tap bolt hole from painting . just a bunch of little stuff.

Sounds like it,s time to fire that puppy up!Get the engine broke in and make sure all fluids are topped up.Then move on to the frontend parts!Good luck, you can do it!Your real close to completion.

whoo hoo! I am fired up now! And i found my camera so i can now snap some pictures and post 'em!! I am getting up at 6:00 in the morning (yea, I know it is 11:30 pm right now) and am gonna bust my butt to get things done! I think the brakes need to be done first, 'cause if I wait 'til it is started I will be bummed that I can't finish the break in driving! Then steering wheel and ugly seat that will come back out if time permits! Then i will fire it! The rest, I will play by ear!!! Now off to bed!

man! i am so pumped for you, i hope you getter done quick.. just think about the break in time! that'll be fun eh? Just keep that in mind to have some motivation for it being done!

Thanks bayyum (by the way, how'd you pick that name?) I will bleed the brakes in the morning, decided to double check the front bearings (wasn't sure if I had, better safe than sorry) then throw in the steering wheel and seat. I already hooked up the remote starter switch and turned the motor over a couple of rounds. The sound of the starter made goose-bumps pop up on my neck! Bayyum, you being pumped, added to this experience, has me pumped!!!! Any chance you are going to the Nats?
