The engine is an 82 engine and The bearing was #five bearing. The original slant lost the main bearings and was planning on rebuilding it until a friend of mine said I have this great running 225 for sale so I went that route but should have stayed on my original path I suppose.

We pulled to motor to change the rod bearing because you cant take the pan off unless you pull the motor or remove the k member. What do you think the problem is?

I have spoke of my 64 dart with the slant six on here before. I replaced the origional with another \6. Three days after installing it the motor started knocking. I have a 64 Dart with a 225 /6 in it and I am thinking about putting an 83 318 in it. Just wondering what all I would have to do to swap these engines. I have done some research and found schumacher industries makes engine mounts to go from a /6 to a 318. Trying to way my options right now...

Sad day for the slant six. I was driving to class yesterday and lost the crank shaft bearings in it. now im thinking about possibly putting a 318 in the dart or buying a used slant six. any ideas?

Very much so!! I have put quite a few miles on it within the past few weeks and now im in search for the fill tube to tank seal. I have read on here dodge dealers should be able to get it. once that is fixed i will be good to go.

Me too Hemipar. In my opinion its one of the best engines built. And lowbudget, we had to adjust the valves slightly and the timing was dead on. One of the old guys in the club that is a retired mechanic remembered on the old push buttons you could pull start them in low at about thirty mph and...

UPDATE ON THE DART!!! We got her runnin yeasterday and she runs like a top. Now just some fine tunig and we will be ready for a nice little trip.

Kevin, ill look into a leakdown kit. And Frank My plugs are dry as a bone and im pretty sure that the dizzy is dead on but not for positive. Im takin the car to our clubs clubhouse this weekend and see if any of the guys have any ideas and hopefully we can figure somethin out.

I have done the above and still nothing. My brother in law had stuck his finger in one plug hole to find tdc and with no spark plug in it fired and shot his finger out of the hole. after this happened we have dialed the timing in and it wont fire. We checked compression last night and after all...

I have also been sprayin starting fluid in the carb and dumping a little gas in it to see if that would start it but isnt doing anything.

I just put some fresh gas in and the tank has been cleaned and everything but it could be dirty in the lines. And when u turn the dist about half way it tries to start but still nothin. Im thinkin maybe it could be the fuel pump but I am getting gas.
