    PCV-Vac-Advance routing

I'm feeling pretty dumb about now. I just got out my mirror and checked the back of the carb. Low and behold, there's the port I'm looking for. Now that explains why I couldn't get the damn thing running either. So, with that part out of the way, which of the two smaller ports on the carb...

    PCV-Vac-Advance routing

I had my carb rebuilt and didn't reinstall it for several months. In the meantime, my memory faded. The passenger valve cover has a breather. The driver valve cover used to have a hose going somewhere. Attached is a couple of pics. I can't recall which port to connect my Vac Advance to on the...

    Timing Chain-moving the Crank

69_340_GTS: I thought so too. The new gear is slightly larger than the old one. I'm not sure if this is 'cause it's a double roller set or not. I don't want to risk it. I already didn't want to do this timing chain, let alone have to do a full rebuild; lol

    Timing Chain-moving the Crank

So I just took a closer look at the new and old crank gears (photo attached). The new gear has what appears to be a very noticable DOT. but does not match the old gear (on the left). If you look very close at the new gear, there is a faint "dot" that matches the dot on the old gear. Should I...

sorry, just saw this message. I've been knee deep working on my daughter's mustang; lol. I took the speedo out and lubricated the gears the best I could, and also installed a new speedo cable; between these two things, the trouble if gone.

    Timing Chain-moving the Crank

70 Valiant, 318 Replacing timing chain. Old chain/gears were aligned with dots at 12 and 6 prior to removal. New Mopar P5249267 double roller set purchased. When I try to install, the crank gear is off by a few degrees. The old chain was loose and had 10* of play, so I think some teeth may...

    My side marker fix

After my son's fender bender, the side marker lens lost the tabs and would not snap into the housing. 60+ bucks for a lens was just a bit pricey for me. Here's my cheap fix. Pack of 12 super magnets, .375 OD. Using some gorilla glue, I glued three super magnets (neodymium) to the back of the...

    Manual steering to power

I have been toying around with the idea of electric power steering for my '66 barracuda. It uses the unit from a Saturn Vue. Here's a guy that put one on his cobra: It requires a special "box" made by a guy in portugal: Saturn Vue Ion Chevrolet Equinox – Electric power steering controller box...
