    Edelbrock Head Quality

    I had two of the small block “EFI” manifolds a few years ago that were totally wrong in the distributor area and had to have material removed so the distributor could be installed. It’s beyond me how they could screw that up.

    360 oil leak at back of intake manifold

    I had a distributor years ago that oil would make its way up the shaft and drip out of the vent holes on the bottom of the housing. Something else to look at prior to removing the manifold.

    Also as I just went through a similar problem, in my case the intake manifold gaskets were allowing oil from the lifter valley to get sucked into some of the intake ports. Would lightly smoke at warm idle and upon initial startup Similar to valve seals.

    They have a sticky post about distributor phasing which was posted by the moderator within the past couple weeks. My comment about the guys issue confirming there is a phasing issue has gone unanswered. Go figure.

    My Magnum headed 408 has valve train noise also. I’m sure the Hughes hydraulic roller cam doesn’t help.

    ProFlo4. If you’re going to do it might as well do it right and no longer have a wet manifold. Plenty of posters have said they have had good luck with the sniper but……. I dislike the fact with the sniper, atomic, fitech, all retain the wet manifold and house all of the electronics in the unit...
