seabee,
I have not been to the chula vista cruise. have been to La mesa on thursday and the elcajon cruise on wednesday. I have never had the barracuda to any cruise though... too embarrased to chug around on 7 cylinders, motor should be in by next summer i hope
First car was a 1970 chevelle malibu 307 and a powerglide A/C 54K miles paid 1000.00 of my own hard earned bucks way back in 1988. my little brother owns that car now... wish I did
A 318 with flowmasters and enough cam to make 400 HP is not going to sound very stock... you wont fool anybody. The larger your displacement (stroker) the larger the cam you can use and still sound relatively stock. Larger displacement will also make more power without the need for a "big" camshaft
my vote is for bad turn signal switch. when mine went bad i had similar problems, seems like nearly all of the running light/brake light wires pass thru that switch
Ok so does anyone know which 67 and up style header will fit best on the passenger side of an early A? I would also be willing to try and modify a set of existing headers to fit a 360 in my 66 barracuda, sured would be nice if one side was already close to a good fit.
Sadly 91 octane is all we can get short of buying race fuel=$$$... i do have a station nearby that sells E85 but... whole new set of issues. So heads have been checked they do need guides and a valve job 2 exhaust valves were junk, I'll have to check my cam card i don't remember what springs...
My combo is fairly mild compared to most, a 0.030 360 stock crank and rods, kb 107's block is not zero decked just cleaned up. Compression a 91 octane friendly 9.0:1 comp xe268 cam.
While i would love to go all out and build a set of top notch heads.... I just dont have the money. Around...
So what should I expect to pay for this kind/amount of work? I am looking for a machine shop to do this work as well, would be nice if it was in driving distance of San Diego CA any recommendations?
