I feel your pain. I'm going to a track tomorrow that is known for poor track prep just because the race in Ardmore Ok. the following week is more than likely going to get rained out and I need my racing fix. I'm not going to tow 200 miles and spring for 3 nights in a motel just to watch it...
I think I'm going to try a Derale plate type cooler with the fan on it and mount it under the trunk. If that doesn't do the trick I'll take a look at the Jones product.
I ran my number last weekend when we were hot lapping, I just didn't like to see those trans temps around 220-230 after the...
Last Saturday it was 95 and humid. the Last 3 rounds they damned near hot lapped us. I can cool my motor down, but after the final round I noticed the transmission (727) was 220-230 degrees.
I have the standard aluminum trans cooler in front of the radiator. Do any of you use one of the...
I feel your pain. If you've ever tried to get a motor plate to seal on the front cover of a Gen 3 hemi it's not fun. You are sealing a smooth plate to a motor front cover that is designed for the no permatex gasket and about a dozen bolts. The water pump is actually the easy part. The plate...
Me and the other guy sat in the heat at the top of the lanes waiting to go down for our final because some guy in a 36' trailer had driven his trailer into the lanes and had them blocked as he tried numerous times to get turned around. After about 15 minutes of this, someone from the track told...
Another opportunity for a win yesterday makes it 3 races in a row with either the win or a split. Yesterday was tough in the Texas heat with 95 degree temps and high humidity and having to run in the class with the delay boxes and fast cars. 3500 DA all day. We agreed to split it, then wound...
After 3 weekends in a row of rainouts, we were finally able to race at Xtreme Raceway Park in Trumbul Texas (South of Dallas)
We didn't get the race completely in though as the rain stopped us with 4 cars left in no box and 14 in box.
I made it to the final 4 due to the other guy turning it red...
UPDATE: I made a couple of passes tonight and when I went to scan my time slips it said I had to pay the registration fee to scan time slips from now on. I guess they let me do a few free ones to get me interested. No thanks.
I ran 10w30 in my race motor for years, then I was told by BES in Indiana that I should be running 10w40. I'm trying Lucas hot rod oil 10w40 on my current build. It's cheaper than racing oil and has a very high zinc content. It's on about the 4th oil change and so far things are looking good...
