My '72 Dart Swinger ( 6 cyl) runs fine at lower speeds but when I get it on the Thruway and get up to 50 or so it sputters and dies. Get back to 25 or so it runs fine again. Vacume? Help please!
I'd like to do a static time on my 72 Swinger, slant 6. Can anyone give me a procedure? I plan to get a timing light, but I need to move it in and out of the garage. I have a lot of sputtering at idle and it stalls when I put it in gear.:banghead:
this is probably why the engine continues to stall. Too much vacume in the tank, right?
Thanks for your help. I hope that will cure this problems. What do I do about the fittings on the carb that went to the canister? Block them?
Took out the charcoal canister from my '72 Swinger ( it was wasted) Does the carb need any adjustment without it? Do I block the inlets on the carb where the hoses were?
also, forgot to ask about the resistor looking thing that the neg. coil wire goes to before it goes to ground. What is it? mine's shot. does the coil still need one? Thanks
