Wow! All I asked for was if a site was available to double check the vin to make sure I’m not dealing with an item that was not the original dudes to begin with. I was working on the van (not registered since like 2006.) And the guy could not pay so I took the van in my possession until he can...
Quick question: is there a place I can run the vin on the van in my shop before I try to register it? I have good paperwork on it but worried about theft or issues since it came from “the great state of Georgia.” But is in The communist state of Connecticut.
I know about car fax but not sure...
Factory was (unless the internet disagrees with me) the cabin was welded together then front frame rails hung then the inner fenders and rad support.
I think you can replace a fire wall without it but it will be tight. If you do please post pictures as that would be a cool project in my humble...
Why not just buy a 66’ dual kit. Either way you need to modify the trans mount. Plenty of info on here about that. Passenger side will be really tight near rear axle but can be done.
My 66’ has a tti system. Expensive side but makes it easier for install.
Well- I’m a Lincoln Excalibur or Esab guy first for stick wire. My favorite for all positions is 7018 Excalibur MR 1/8”
MiG wire: Harris, Lincoln or interweld.
Tig: Blue demon or Lincoln.
I have two MiG welding machines that both run .035” wire E-70s with 75/25 cover gas . One suitcase welder...
As a professional welder for over 40 years- I’ve owned my welding and heavy equipment repair company for 30 on Jan 1st - you get what you pay for. Cheap in the welding world is not associated with quality.
You may find a cheap wire that welds good. But as a professional welder- I see things...
I’ve not done an aftermarket automotive shifter like that before BUT
I have done PTOs, remote valves and other cable driven items on big trucks and buses for over 40years.
Those shifter cables on aftermarket stuff are not special. They are not unique or one sized only for cars. Places like...
Blast them clean and start over.
Use a primer made for aluminum like the green etching primer (light coat) allow to dry then a light coat of the paint you are using primer then the paint. All allowing to dry fully. Then sand off the spots you want with a fine sand paper. Then wait the...
Basically - correct. You need to save the tabs because they connect to the “frame.” And take a look at some of the control arms that come up for sale here. Look at how they have the bushing and shell of the bushing pressed into the control arm. You can over torque the bolts and snap the nuts off...
Or use a sawzall with a thin bit and on the in side of the outer mount slice thru the bolt and the bushing.
This ruins the bolt and the bushing but not the arm or body if you do it correctly. I had to take mine off before blasting because inside that area is prone to rust thru and crucial to...
I’ve owned quite a few of 66 barracudas.
My knowledge says:
/6 and 273 were 3 on the tree or 4speed floor mounted.
I’ve yet to see a 3speed floor shift for 66’.
BUT since I’ve not seen all of them- this is from my experience only.
As for the pedals and floor jump they are the same except for...
