I just wanted to thank all those who responded to my wanted ad for a B body front hub.
I didn't know I couldn't add a thank you message after I marked the ad "sold".
Thanks, FABO! :thumblef:
OK, thanks-
With the hub sitting inner bearing side down on a flat surface, it measure 2 and 5/16 inches from the surface it's sitting on to the machined flat surface around the studs.
If you turn the hub over, outer bearing side down, it measures 2 and 7/16 inches from the surface it's...
I have a set of B-body 10" drums swapped onto my 65 Valiant (with 73-76 UCAs).
I started hearing a god-awful racket from my left front wheel, took it apart to find the outer bearing race spinning loose in the "wallered out" hub casting. I just put new bearings in few months back... don't...
Can a 5.2 Magnum crank, rods, and pistons be used in an older 318 LA block?
Was thinking this would be a cheap way to bump up compression in a 318. I think I remember reading something about the rear main seal being different, though- one piece on Magnums? Can the Magnum type seal be adapted...
My axle has gone from whining to sounding like a coffee can full o' rocks. I've ruled out wheel (outer axle) bearings and the fluid is full.:(
So I'm needin' a BBP 7 1/4, with 2.76 or 2.94 gears. Within ~200 miles of Evansville, IN. (I'll pick up.)
I can spend mabey up to $150 or so. Or...
I always thought the 340 should a been an option "across the board" for A-bodies, like the Hemi in the 66 (and later if ya knew who to ask) B-bodies.
I bet Chrysler would have built you (for instance) a 340 4-speed Valiant 100 2 door sedan if you knew who to talk to and were willing to pay up...
"Turn your plain '63-'66 Valiant or Barracuda into V-8 4-speed car with all the de-luxe interior and exterior trim goodies for $1500!"
Don't sound too bad if ya put it that way...:D
Something I've never seen, but would be handy, is a list of all the steelies that came on torsion-bar era Mopes. The Rallyes and Magnums have been pretty well covered by the magazines over the years- I'm talkin' about the standard steelies intended for hubcaps or wheelcovers.
I know SBP A body...
This gets my vote for ugliest Mopar ever. A rolling exhibit of everything that went wrong with car design in the last ~25 years. Say what you will about the '05 Charger sedan not being worthy of the Charger name; it's a HUGE improvement over these road lice.
