Lets see some HEMI swap pictures

ooops, I never showed how it looks in germany since August. With some minor troubles (engine mounts, Starter/TTI headder, flywheel to name the biggest issues) and with the help from you guys I'm proud to be one of the first in germany but definitly the first with a HEMI powered Dart ... :)

... with some cutting and welding my beloved dual snorkel air cleaner fits right (and tight) under the hood... :)

thanks!

Forgot to mention that the Tranny is the R154 Toyota Supra 5speed.

If you need something special explained or details in pictures I can post it here if it's ok for the others... ;-)

How much power can that trans be built up to withstand?

to be honest - I have no idea. I know from some Supras in drag racing with modified engines. But I have no numbers. Guess I will know it first because I use it stock. Did nothing to the tranny, just plugged it in .... ;-)

How it drives? with the 5speed and hydraulic clutch like any modern car.... :) You know we have the Autobahn here and there is no reason anymore to hide on the slow lane. You can travel with 110 mph with ease. Top speed is not tested yet - I broke up at 140mph (approx 4200 rpm, 3rd member is a 8 3/4 with 3.23 ratio) because of the traffic. And there is still plenty of room...;-)

fuel consumption: 17,5mpg at 100mph

Wonder if that trans would hold 1400hp (assuming it's built up) I am planning a 727 but also considering manual too. We will see I guess. I'm a long way away from needing a trans though.

I've heard that the strongest overdrive manual is a built t56. Like $7000, though. But, it's proven in vipers and vettes with that kind of power.

My understanding with the supra tranny is that it lives well in a supra because the hp is so high in the rpm band. Since a tranny is rated for torque, they can live with a high strung motor.

What about an 18 spline 833? What's the rating on those?

What kind of weight do you think you'll come in at 03ramit1? I figure that will play a big factor in how she lives.

I have a tko600 I'm putting in mine. I talked to a couple shops that build em stronger (~$2000), and they said 9.05 at 155 in a 3200 lb car on a 10.5" is what they've got em doing now, and what they perceive as the limit on the drag strip. They said careful attention to clutch choice was important to soften the hit on the tranny. I know at least one viper with 1700 hp has seen 7.99's at 177 on a t56, for comparison. Seems another went 7.98@183.

$7000 is way too much. I'm not made of money here. I thought that $5000 for a solid 727 was nuts. But with the numbers I'm talking you gotta pay big to play. I'm hoping to keep the car in the 2800-3000 range. And just happen to have 31/10.50's under it. I'll probably stick to a 727. Might look at adding a gear vendors later if the RPM is too high on the street. ER will see though. But hey nothing is set in stone yet. I'll have to check with a buddy of mine for a manual trans... The TKO is out of what car a cobra? Wonder what else they came in

The TKO is based on a T-5, but it's purely aftermarket (has a different input shaft spline as well). The TKO500 is good for 500 ft/lb, the TKO600 is good for 600 ft/lb. With work, some say they're good for 800-900 ft/lb.

Mine came in a Keisler kit. They're probably $2200 new, I've seen em used as low as $1000-$1500. The Keisler has a special modification where they cut out part of the case on top to allow for the tranny crossmember to stay intact. Well, Mine didn't line up right, so I had to cut half of mine out anyway. Here's what you've gotta do if you don't have a keisler tko http://www.moparts.org/Tech/Archive/clutch/25.html

The Viper t56 is a good choice as well. Rated to 600 ft/lb I believe. $1500-$2000 is a common used price.

The T-6060 is touted to 700 ft lb factory, and guys are saying it holds up well... But we're still not even halfway to what you want. You can build em heavy:

If you're not going to build a killer t56, then your choices get very limited. I don't even know anything in that realm, but here's at least a couple leads for you:

i see you switched from injection to a carb,,but what are you using for spark electronics?? very kool a modern hemi in your land,,,

I used this MSD6-Hemi computer. Very easy, plug and play...

Yeah, it is very new in Germany. I know now about 2 6.1 in Germany which are currently in process but they are in a B and E-Body and injected.

Well those were nice, but here is ours. 2010 6.1 Hemi crate motor, Stage II chip 480HP at the flywheel. Followed by a 545 RFE 5spd auto, with 2600 stall convertor and 3:73 posi in a 8-3/4" Mopar rearend with triangulated 4-link.

What is a stage II chip? How is it adding 55hp? I'm currently waiting on parts for a customer, he has an 09 5.7 ram getting an ATS built 545 trans, aftermarket heads, cam, and magnison supercharger. It should be putting low500 to really high 400's to the ground. Estimating 700 at the flywheel. Your 6.1 is nice and all but I read your post as being snotty. Basically saying yours is ok, but mine is way better. I don't know if it was intended that way, but that's how I took it.

Seriously though what is a stage II chip that's adding so much power? I have never seen a tuner ad 55hp to a stock motor. (oil burner yes but not a gas motor)

Yeah, I do believe that thread is dead. I would have liked to seen it finished.
