Does anyone have pictures of injectors mounted on a modman intake for the Gen III Hemi? I would like to see what others have done for location, angle, etc before I drill my intake.

Thanks,

Couldn't you have got it drilled to begin with?

I know I have some somewhere, let me see if I can dig them up. I think for the most part I just tried to drill perpendicular to the bosses when I did mine. I didn't quite drill them on center, I chose to go up just a touch so I had a little more meat to drill through.

Well, I know i took some of the intake before I installed everything, but I can't find them right now. Here's some pictures of everything installed on the car, hopefully it gives you some idea. I'll see if I can't find the others sometime.

I have injectors from FAST and they are a much larger body than the stock injectors, they won't fit on the factory cast pads. I'm thinking I'll drill/weld the bungs inline with the factory cast pads, but go up a little on the intake runner. This is also why I didn't get Indy to the machining.

Thanks for the input and pictures.

Good luck, post some pics when you're done.

Also, does the Mod Man intake have provisions for holding down the fuel rails?

Regards,

Joe Dokes

It sort of has provisions for mounting rails, but not the easiest ones to work with. There are two smaller pads on either side right next to the breather ports that you can drill and tap. If you look at pictures of their pre-drilled intake it looks like they just thread a stud in them that the rails somehow mount on. I just bolted L brackets to mine (top of the top picture), but had to grind quite a bit to clearance the tubes I screwed into the ports for my PCV and breather. I originally made U brackets to hold the rails better, but the bottom side hit the valve covers, so I just chopped them down to L's.

What top are you running on this intake? I'm wanting to run the box top and mount it towards the firewall for my boosted application. Any brtter pics as a whole setup?

I've got a 4bbl top and FAST throttle body on mine. I originally went with a carb setup, so I just carried over what I already had and I got the throttle body in a package deal with my computer. I'm not sure if Indy ever released the hood style top or not, you might have to call them. I've seen pictures of it, but can't remember if they actually had it on their price sheets or not. Either way you could probably make one pretty easy if you wanted to. Clearance to the firewall is pretty tight as is, so you might be better off looking into a custom setup. Maybe a side entry style hood even?

Here's a fairly recent picture that has the new throttle body setup from what I first did the fuel injection swap.

Man that looks clean. You have a nice clea setup there. You ever get to kansas city let me know. I'd love to see that car of yours in person.

I've made it up to a few of the Mopar club events at Culvers, but haven't had it up there for a while. If you'd like to meet up sometime just shoot me a PM. I'm more than happy to swap stories over lunch or something if you'd like.

Absolutely. I get over to legends in kck sometimes for the kids and wife to shop. That is probably about mid way I'm guess???

Yeah, that would work out pretty well. Let me know a day that works for you and I'll see what I can do.
