Hello!
I am new to this group and am asking for some feedback from the membership.
My company is Plymouth Doctor Restoration Parts and we are known for producing high quality reproduction sheet metal parts for Chrysler products (cars and trucks) from 1933 - 1952.
Over the past few years I have received a fair number of requests for 'A' body sheet metal parts for 1963 - 1966 cars and am considering bringing certain parts to market if there is sufficient interest.
My question is, what would you like to see in the way of parts selection and what specifications do you require.
You can check out the quality of our parts at www.theplymouthdoctor.com if you wish and I look forward to your comments.

Thank you in advance -

Searching the web for sheet metal to my Dart '66, there is very little out there so, yes, I believe there would be a demand for reproduction parts for them.

I'm thinking fenders, rear quarters, trunk floor and drop-offs, rear valance and whatever that part that runs under the doors is called, I forget.

Oh, have a hard top if that matters.

Let me begin with I have a later A Body but it is good to see someone stepping up to provide for the early A bodies. Thank you for supporting the hobby.

Thanks for your feedback.
I believe the part you are referring to is the rocker panel (aka side sill).
Are you aware if the upper cowl panel is a problem on this series?
I seem to recall that it was on the 'B' body cars from '63 - '65.

Most anything for a 66 Barracuda would be cool. Rear quaters patch panels. Floor pans, ect.

67-8-9 barracuda front fenders. think their ALL THE SAME W/ EXCEPTION OF SIDE MARKER LIGHTS. THEY ARE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND ! if you do, they want stupid prices for them, and the fender patch panel suck !

front clip parts for 64-65 barracudas don't exist in aftermarket. fenders and front valances needed badly.

Cowl needed. They all rust out in the "Wild" :burnout: MT

I think any support for any A body is welcome , the A bodies are the ignored cousin of an ignored family in the auto world , Mopar More Original Parts Required . Hope you bring out a quality line of parts for all A bodies

A good portion of sheet metal for 64-66 Darts is one year only, 64-65 Barracudas are similar but not exactly the same with 66 most being 1 year only; Valiants - same issue as the Barraucda.

I believe Kramer ran off some early dart pieces, floors, qtr. patch panels, and others
have in ltd. numbers. Nobody I've seen have repro'd any cowls(& you are correct, they're an
issue),or frt. fenders incl. patch panels, or trunk floors/extensions. The inner fenders aren't
as dire, but I know the 1st gen. barracuda guy's are hurting worse than us dart guys.
For reference,I have found USA made early dart qtr. wheel opening/frt. lower and
rear lower repair panels(4 pcs.) for $600 second hand online, and I consider that well worth
it.The chances of finding clean "take-offs" is close to nil,and the cost to fab,or the time if
your capable, make that worth it.So it comes down to us,the enthusiasts,to step up and
support your company for supporting our hobby/passion!
AMD has stepped up the game, but won't get to us for a while I'm sure,if ever.Put
me down for a new cowl,my poor '64 GT is gonna need one,and I'm not lookin' forward to
removing and repairing it. It may or may not be an easy repair once removed, but a quality
replacement would get the nod if available. If you have an accurate $ projection, you'll get
more useful feedback from the community, thank you for your interest!!

First, I want to thank all of you who took the time to respond to this inquiry. Your comments are most welcome and frankly, quite encouraging as I have been told by others to "leave this market segment alone - it is too small" But that is what they said about the mid-thirties Plymouths and we are now in our 15th year and still going strong.

With respect to the 'A' bodies, I will begin to gather patterns beginning with items such as cowls, quarter panels, door panels and floor pan segments. On occasion, I may have to ask for some help from you regarding interchange and would once again appreciate your indulgence.

Our parts will be made in either 18 or 19 gauge cold rolled steel (I assure you, there is not a single scrap of galvanneal in our shop) and they will be of sufficient size to accommodate most repairs.
Some of the more complicated pieces and low volume parts may be hand fabricated while others will be die stamped. In each case, as with our current parts offerings, they will follow the manufacturers pattern for that part to assure you the best quality and fit in the market.

Thanks again for your input and I look forward to bringing these pieces on line in the near future.

AMD already makes 67-69 barracuda trunk extensions (drops) and 67- 69 A body inner and outer wheel well (wheelhouse)

Btw 67-69 barracuda outer wheelhouse is the same part used on 70-76 duster.

And 69 barracuda hood is the same hood used on 74-76 beak darts.

Anybody making inner and outer wheelhouse pieces for 63-66 convertibles, and 67-9 Cuda convertibles??

I am in the middle of restoring my 65 Valiant convertible and it has been very difficult to find any full metal parts....all I could find were wheel well and rear qtr patch panels only...

My recc would be for

Full rear qtrs
Front Fenders
front and rear fender well splash shields (No one sells them and they all rot out)
trunk extensions
Header bow for the convertible top frame (they rot as well)

I applaud you sir and welcome to FABO. Hand make parts? Bravo!

I wish they had 67-69 trunk extensions when I did my fish. The body guy wasn't too happy with the Dart ones I gave him.

I guess they didn't went for it after all. too bad

I need the piece of sheet metal that goes from the bottom of the rear window to the trunk rail and the lower right curved corner sheet metal for my 1968 Dodge Dart GT. I cannot seem to locate these 2 pieces used or new anywhere. The A bodies are starting to be noticed by collectors and it won't be long until their prices jump up in value. (scampman)

I checked website no Abody stuff. I called but had to leave message. I guess we are **** outa luck maybe once all of the B E Bodies are restored someone will make sheet metal for us.
