Yes I hope to have mine looking like that soon have to figure out what to since my commando cleaner won't fit my 1850 Holley

Quite a little time has passed since my last post and a lot has happened. The car is running fine now. I had to give it to the shop to finish it, because I couldn't do anything withouht a lift. Now there will be left some additional work, like adjusting brakes, replacing a brake-hose, the back-up lamp switch and the output shaft seal of the manual transmission. The master-brake-cylinder-cover was leaking too. I'll show you some pictures and a short clip next.

I am installing some extra auto-motor-gauges (water temp. and oil-pressure) and will have to fix the right front blinker and the dome lights. After this the car should be ready for inspection.

This is the first start and checking brakes.

Here you can see, that the quarter panel needs to be replaced (I already have the panels). It's a lot of mastic everywhere... 8 ))

The car will be in our band's music-clip. These are some scenes in my garage, where we filmed in front of a green screen in the film-noir-style. Show you some shots and still shots of the movie. I'll put it online as soon it's finished...

These are the extra gauges. They look modern, but I like them.

I mounted the blinker-indicator as well in the bracket.

Made myself that shifter boot, because the one I got as a reproduction produced some friction between the rubber and the console.

I made that fish swimming by moulding the background with transparent enamel...

Had to replace that hose. It was leaking.

That small patch I had to put on to help it passing the classic car licence...!!!

Had to replace the trunk rubber seal, because exhaust gases were sucked into the car. So I decided to do it right on a nice sunday afternoon. There is no gas issue anymore.

Last thing we've done: Changing oil and filter and
checking/adjusting the valve lash.
My brother checked it hot: Intake .013" (.33mm) / Exhaust: .021 (.53mm)
I rechecked it today cold: Intake .012" (.30mm) / Exhaust .019" (.48mm)
Millimeters are approx.

Still think it's pretty noisy..., guess it has to be with the mechanical lifters... I am used hydros.. 8 )

Things still need to be done another day...:
- Checking rear axle, maybe swap it to another ratio. It's pretty short now.
- Mounting the original carburetor 4119S (instead of 4120S - now installed - used to be one for automatic cars..)
- Maybe change to single exhaust system - the dual 2.5" booms at some rpm's enormously.
- Quarter patch panels (already in stock)

This is data sheet I started about two years ago and filled it with helpful figures... 8 )

happy

Wow that interior looks fabulous, well as does the whole car!

Great job

Maybe just a muffler change might help with the noise.

Here's my plastic promo model-car from 1966 (about Scale 1:28). Decided to paint it in my original colors on a rainy weekend... 8 )

Looks good and a lot of fun. I usually set my valves cold as well. I like to hear a little rattle when I start it cold and almost goes away at operating temperature.
