Little street terror.

I did that all the time in my neighborhood. Also had a neighbor come down and tell me to slow down. Said it was because his brother was hit by a car. I said then I would expect you to make damn sure your son knows not to play in the street, and never to expect a car to avoid him if he choses not to move. The last customer car I released to him I did a holeshot on my driveway with. I'll be damned if I build it and don't test it like the owner will.

I agree with you but, I do one small burn out in 5 years and it's the end of the world... I daily drive a slow as hell, non-turbocharged Subaru, my wife complains that I drive like an old man, I never drive more than 5 mph over, I haven't had a ticket in 30 years, and it was a dead end street.

But again, yes. I agree with you.

Well I don't agree with him.It was a stupid post, especially you broke no speed limit and were in complete and total control of the car. There were no other cars on the road and no people around. You did nothing wrong......with what is still your car.

Glad you agree.

No matter how carefully you raise your kids, they are still kids. That's why there are laws about driving responsibly.

You can't call it stupid. Well, you can, but with all respect, that's your problem. As I replied to Moper, there are laws about RESPONSIBLE driving. In the eyes of the law (and anyone with common sense), you are not in total control of your car if the tires are spinning. Also, a person, a neighbor in this case, doesn't need to worry about another neighbor driving irresponsibly on a public street.
C'mon guys. Driving foolishly on the street is a no win deal!

Says the prude whose never done a burnout. <massive eye roll>

This thread has gone places I never expected it to go. At this point, this is all I have to offer...

Jumpin' jimminy, remind me never to post a video of me, warming up my tires. That was the nearly softest most gentlest take off my 367 can even do,lol.
If I was buying that car, that's exactly what I'd like to see. That is a perfect demo. No oil-smoke, no hesitation or bog. Little to no body lean, and the brakes work.Quiet mufflers, and a peppy engine to-boot. And bonus; the brakelights work!
Yeah, I saw your gray hair; welcome to the club, lol.
I remember Es when the were new. Worst tires ever to put on a 70Swinger 340-4 speed, and then sell it to a 17 year-old. They even slide sideways for like,.... forever. Just like driving on ice. We used to practice swatting shopping carts around the parking lot with the back bumper, while doing figure eights.
I missed a few times and the rear quarter had the witness marks. That car had a lot of witness marks from bone-head stunts I pulled. Shoot, just doing lane-changes was dangerous; that car was pendulum machine. Switch lanes too quick and she might start a death wobble. Yeah learning to drive a 340 car on Es was a real experience. But I'm glad I went thru that tho. That training saved my bacon many a time later in life.

Did that car even hit 25/30mph? I doubt it.
Shoot, I bet it didn't hit even 20.
Was it even 100ft?
And it sounded like the he had one foot on the brake the whole time........
I liked it.

If he broke it, he would have to fix it to hand it over in running condition or lower the selling price accordingly...

It's not like that car has not done a burnout before and won't do one again...

I doubt he'd break the rear end in there with it being a Dana....

I did lots of burnouts in my 68 fastback 340 S....

If I was a buyer and had not yet seen or driven the car that video would have made me more interested in the car for sure. Sound good and looks good!

Well i want to be known as the guy who left the biggest carbon footprint on thre planet...used the most gasoline and killed the most rear tyres...
No legend ever got achieved by non doing...

Wow!...just...wow...
For a site about building and driving fast cars, there sure is a lot of bitching and moaning and finger waving.

I don't see anything wrong done here.
A guy selling a car makes a video FOR THE BUYER, doing one squeaky tiny little burnout, on an empty street, and out comes the morality police and a wannabe crossing guard with a pitchfork.

Plus, he gets chastised buy the potential buyer, who woke up at 4am on his birthday and posted how he wanted to buy the car. Maybe the fever wore off, or he wants to beat the guy up on price over it?

I just can't stop shaking my head...

Go to e-body.org's Facebook page and watch Dave Ferro flog a customer's freshly restored Challenger.

I used to test my customer's cars just as I expected them to drive it. No one pays for horsepower and drives like a granny.

Look, I knew I'd probably start a small s*** storm with my post. No big deal. You all may not agree that driving recklessly on a neighborhood street is dangerous. Just my "silly" opinion.

Yes, I've done it on a back road.
You missed this part.

Ahh, I was wondering when the "P" word would come out.

Cya, guys.

Video was cool !!
Thanks for Sharing !!
I would hardly call that beating the car !
If it can't take that there is bigger problems .
I might be mistaken ?
I seem to remember the buyer bought and sold some cars very quickly a few years ago ?
I could be wrong ?
I think your asking price is more then fair !!
I also think the video demonstrates that the car runs well and breaks them loose at will .
Long live 4 speeds and burnouts !!!
If it were me I'd do a better one and post it !!

I agree 100% with your point about not driving recklessly through neighborhoods.

I just don't agree he was.

...and just so we're clear, I was not calling YOU stupid. I thought the statement you made was. I disagree he was driving recklessly, that's all.

Wasn't trying to get personal.

just for the record, the OP drives like a granny. ha ha let me lose with it, I'll show some street terror.
That's one sweet ride you're selling. I couldn't/wouldn't do it.

I hope you have experience with E70-14 Polyglass tires!
no problem, give me baldy , retread, flat, egg shaped, or whatever. lol I melted many bias ply tires. MANY !

I can see this one both ways, I guess. Personally, if the current owner/seller new how to take care of the car, had it for years, worked on it, etc. that very mild burn out would be 100% fine with me.

Looking at rental cars for example, certain kinds of people will abuse other people's property when they think they can get away with it. I see absolutely no reason to think the OP is one of those people...and as has been pointed out, it's still his car! Just my opinion.

On the other hand, if the deal included fresh tires and/or new brake shoes, then yeah, this might be affecting the terms of the deal that were agreed upon.
