Scoop or no scoop?

-
dang it - I am at work and the site is blocked :wtf: - so they do a one piece or are they grafting on scoops to order?
I saw hoods, hoods with scoops and snorkel scoops but Not a Hood With a Snorkel on it...

You're clearly not happy with the way it looks presently… Otherwise you would not have put up an opinion question… Go with your gut you're the one that has to look into the garage every morning

Ok, I was going to say black scoop to match your stripe. But, then I read factory 74 360. That car is super rare, so I would not cut the hood. Do what I did. Buy a spare hood and paint it satin(matte) black. Or paint it your factory blue to match. Don't damage that factory hood! My 2 cents.

I like these 2 styles, painted body color or scoop with the black decal. Get a second hood to chop up and keep the original in the garage.

yes after reading all the replies I think I agree ....theres a swapmeet on this coming weekend over here so I will look out for another hood to play with so I can always change my mind. Always wondered why they never got scoops from the factory!

Are they rare? anyone know the build numbers of these or a reliable site to get the info from?

Been there done that!

Car looks great as is!

If you want a change then get another hood to play with. Dual snorkel looks great on A-bodies ma Mopar got it right.

I also vote to get another hood and do the dual snorkel scoop. I'd paint the hood to match your car and paint the scoop black

I'm probably gonna get kicked electronically in the head for this but:poke:...
What is the rarety:value ratio in this case (ABSOLUTELY no offense to your car) it's sweet. But we're talking about a hood on a 74. This isn't a Mr. Norms, Superbird, Hemi car, so do what you want to do...do you really think that if you go to sell, it's gonna lose that much value for putting a scoop on the original hood? IMHO it won't...Okay fanatical purists...let's get it overwith:mob:

I really don't think it'd affect value any and I'm nowhere near a purists but I think I'd find a different hood for the simple fact that that car looks AWESOME exactly how it is, so if it were mine I'd like to have the option to go back to the current look as easily as possible

The dual snorkel scoop looks great, But as many others have said find a different hood and cut a hole to make it functional. Keep that original hood as is!

that car looks clean just the way it is...I wouldn't touch it!
the wheels are nice but i could live with 14" and 15" rallies.
I liked them just the way they were built...but you have
to please yourself!

I like it the way it is, but I would like it with a scoop too. I'm putting a dual snorkel on mine. I will be cutting up the original hood (70 Duster). Main reason is I want the fresh air for the engine. I will probably paint it the same color as the rest of the car to make it a little bit more discrete.
