I have a 68 Barracuda formula s car that I received with very little interior parts. I have no idea as to whether or not it had shoulder straps with the seat belts. It's a deluxe interior car and I wonder if shoulder straps came standard with them, or they were an option. Does anyone know if that's correct or have any ideas as to clues in the car I could look for to figure this out. Thanks, Lou

Yup ,should have large bolt holes in the headliner besides (maybe) smaller holes for the coat hooks//and a clip bracket on the sun visor mounts..
my car has the basic interior but it is an S so I am led to believe it was part of the S package but with ma mopar you could have anything and standard is what they felt like on Monday and Friday

A build sheet would be a plus, But if you are restoring your car//almost everything was an option and I dont think any one would bust your chops on those..

There is a member here that deals with seat belts and someone most likely can hook you up.. OORRR save your pennies, buy a wagon, air B&B a room and go to CARLISLE.... oopppsss I didnt look your already in PA.....

I had a 68 fastback that did not have them. It was an early car that year, built in 67.

WOW a great amount of good info. Thanks to all of you guys. Dave, if I’m understanding your thread correctly are guys saying that if the hole is not threaded than the car was a non shoulder belt car, and if it has the threaded nut behind the hole it was a shoulder belt car?

68 cars built in 67 it was a option, as of 01-01-1968 they were federally mandated.

:wtf: my car is a 69 has the shoulder belts but not the head restraints ???!!!!

I can never remember that mandate time but my car was an early build. October 15 1967.

Likely did not have the threaded bosses. You can add them per the previous posts.

My early oct 68 build, 69 had them as well the threaded bosses for the rear seat shoulders.

I believe a recent post discussed build date requirements on the restraints within the last month. Search for it.

My 68 was a early one that had the holes but nut the threaded lugs. The thread above that Daves69 posted shows how I did it with some great minds here on FABO.

Thanks for all the input. Everyone has been a great help and I appreciate it. With all this info I know now what to do. Thanks FABO guys.

CudaLou ,

Look for this thread i screen shot below. I bought these for my 67 and my sons 69. Both barracuda notches. On the 67, or early build 68, use the coat hook hole. It's just about where the shoulder belt anchor is on a late 68 and on a 69 as far as a notchback goes. This thread also has the belts I used and who I got them from as well as how to make the secondary lower anchor and where to put it to maximize its strength. Not sure how to link that thread, but use the search engine and you will find it. I have anchors off different cars that I saved if interested. I think I ended up paying $210 out the door shipped for the front belts with chrome lift latch, and a pair of 60" rear lap belts with the same chrome lift latches. The shoulder belts have a retractor, and an 8" sash with a D ring to put the belt at about shoulder height and not cut into your neck.

Hope this helps
Matt
