Did they stamp vin on early blocks?

Just cleaning up some paint on my motor but i dont see a vin pad anywhere. Its what i assume is original for my 63 dart. The pad under #1 plug it T22 5 06 which if im correct it a 60s 225 with a build date of march 6th?

T: 1963 model year
22: 225 cubic inch
5 06: Engine assembled on 6 May 1963.

And no, the VIN isn't stamped on the block in a '63.
