It's a 2004 545RFE from a Dakota with a 4.7, and a mini starter that fits 5.2 and 5.9 Magnum motors in Dakotas, Durango's, and Dodge vans and pickups. If he has a 4.7 motor, it will have either a 45RFE or a 545RFE.....which you can't tell apart by looking at them.
