My PSA's were elevated. Dr did biopsy=negative. 6 months later PSA higher yet, another biopsy=negative. 4 times over 2 years. Biopsy came back positive the 4th time. Dr wanted to do surgery, to remove prostate. I was unable to comply at that time, and the DR pissed me off, so I fired him. I went to another urologist, who gave me several options. First DR did not suggest options.
1 surgery
2 radiation
3 chemo
4 watchfull waiting
I went for radiation treatments. Once a day for 12 weeks. Takes about 15-30 minutes each. No side effects, and if it is not effective, there are still the other options. I have been cancer free for about 6 years, now.
