With .100 off the head that get you to around 9.8:1?
I have .091 off the block as well.
So I hope around 10.75.
Steel shim gasket.
That other head should have been at least 12 something, but that is another story.
Man I appreciate all you guys following along.

I just ran it again with water and I don't see any mixing.
I let it get to 200 deg. or so.

So tonight I will change the filter, run the valves, install new sparking plugs.

k.. sounds great but that start upsets me..i had to twist my dist twice to get mine to fire up.... :( and only one shot at a first start..
I never moved the dist during the head replacement.
I was pretty sure it would light off right away.
I did something right for a change.

Damn Lawyers.

Unfortunately, the seat belt rules have become a racket and costs the racers. There should be away to re certify the belts like was done years back, but that doesn't make the manufacturers enough money.

I looked up re-certs, after shipping it just was not worth the wait.
These cost me about 10 bucks over the re-cert price.
Xtreme and MOKAN don't look at them.
Deb is happy now.

The two independent tracks up here in Maine will let belts go for 5 years if they are in good shape with no visible signs of damage.

I sold my old belts to a couple of young hot rodders for their street car.

It's been a couple of weeks.
I did not tow to MOKAN last week.
We had very bad storms from Texas to Missouri last week.
I didn't feel comfortable towing with Tornados all a round.
I had been working for 5 months to be ready, so it was a bummer.
I hate it for all the folks who lost homes and some who lost their lives in the storms.
There will be another race day for me.

I started moving engines from my garage to the new shop in the back yard.
I was joking with my friend Mark G about Total Seal piston Rings today.
I sent him a picture of my "total seal" engine I forgot I had.
Looks like 100% seal to me!
LOL
PS, that is vinegar in a stuck slant!

One last post tonight.
I passed 500 subscribers to my YouTube channel this weekend!
It's not much but I thought that was pretty cool!

I got out to Xtreme last night, they were PACKED!
Best (best?) time last year was a 8.9 @ 77 mph.
Both runs last night were better, much better.
1st run was 8.7 @ 85 mph. 2 tenths and 8 miles better.
2nd run was 8.49 @ 87 mph, almost 10 mph better than last years best.
Both runs were done with no burnout, drove around the water.
Slick tire pressure was up to 18 vs 16 last years last run.
Dumped clutch and had pretty bad bog out the hole but picked up better after that.
Guy behind me said it jumped to the right on launch.
I shifted into 4th a little bit before the 1/8 marker because I was into the limiter.
I thought for a millisecond about leaving it in third but shifted.
That might have been good for the mph number.
60 foots were bad, 2.2, but that I think is my poor launches and the bog.
My best 60 last year was a 1.9, so that is 2 tenths I am leaving on the table.
But they should be better than that.
I think my driving skills are getting a little better, I was aware of a few more things as they happened.
So plenty of good stuff, and plenty of stuff to improve.

At the track last night, there was the guy from Street Outlaws TV shows doing some testing.
The Crow who used to run the pontiac cars but has a cadillac now.
Don't know if he is still running a pontiac engine, but he does use nitrous.

But better than that there was a guy there who had a Glidden Tribute Arrow.
He bought it a few years ago out of WI when it ran the Nostalgia Pro Stock Series.

That's awesome, can't wait to see how it goes when you get the bog figured out, that's a lot of 60' and will be a huge difference.

Slow down the rate of hit on your ClutchTamer. Keep tightening up the the big knob until you only get about a 1000 to 1200 RPM drop at the hit (just at the point the Clutch starts to grab till it is fully engaged) When you get it right the car should knock at least 5 tenths if not more off your 60 ft. Hoping for a 7 second run for you.

Thanks Grant, you beat me too it.
