Done deal! Legit for cruising. The girl at the registry even grabbed the 68 plate out of the pile!

Gotta love Hagerty too. Great pricing on insurance.

This will be the first big change, but not for a bit. It will cease motion with manual drums for a while. I’m not committed to the booster, but discs will be on there.

Great to see it get on the road without hours of sweat and labour, she looks good George, the disc brake upgrade is well worth the effort, but from my experience there's no need for the booster, just takes up valuable real estate under the hood. Looking forward to seeing you out cruising in it.

Thanks Randy. I am super happy with it and definitely the not working on it part is huge! It's like 4mulas said about patch the floor and drive it. That is such a frickin' bonus.
I agree with you and I'm leaning that way on the brakes too. It really is large space taker. I think I'll just go disc and stay manual. If at some point Stacey doesn't like it, we can always add it in. I am gonna take it out tomorrow. Today was just another busy one or I would have gone.

My wife was more fearful of the accelerator than the brakes when she drove my Dart!

Okay, I just had an amusing thought:
If I still had my F8 green 1970 Dart, we could make a 68-69-70 green Dart sandwich, with Tom's car as the meat!

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

LOL, that would be something to see! With Rob's primer grey 68 it will be "One of these things doesn't belong here....."

I had to move stuff around the shop today. The Coronet got about a quarter inch of dust rinsed off of it! I thought this was a pretty cool shot.

Stuff definitely is not made the same anymore!

Had a visitor today. :)

Nice car, George.
BTW folks, I saw it in person before it was inspected and on the hoist.
It's better than it looks in the pictures, I assure you all.
Ya did good!
That's great that it passed the inspection the first time, and you broke it in right by going on a beer run.
For all of you Americans, that's how we do it here in Canada!

Now, what's with that fugly Chevy colored '69 Dart?
I know that I wouldn't drive something like that...

Thanks Tom. You know I am happy!

As for the other green, the color does not make it run like a scalded dog! But I'm fairly certain yours will the way it sounds!

Pilsner- lol. Breaking the car in I see.

If you stay manual brakes get a 15/16 bore master cylinder when convert. I don’t notice the manual brakes being any work at all when applying with this master. You can get an aluminum 2 post or if you want to stick with cast iron I believe a 74 dart sport with power brakes also used a 15/16 bore. The pedal d]feel is a but softer but the clamping force is greater. I’ve done 3 conversions with that bore diameter and am happy.

looking great! Enjoy.

I just finished putting this together (attached pic) and have decided to call it the ‘Daily Duster’. Something to be said for driving an old classic all the time. What’s the name of the Green Machine? Have you picked one yet?

IMG_4731.jpeg

That looks very nice!

Ya the 73 Duster has a 15/16 too. I think that’s what I put in Rex the Scamp. That and 7/8 wheel cylinders in the back is a good combo. Brad was saying the other day how good it stopped! I’m surprised he used brakes.
I’ll do the rear cylinders when I do the 8 3/4. But the disc front, master and proportioning valve will be right away.

This car has been dubbed “Uncanny”.

The reason is kinda neat and then it was compounded even more so today.
When the seller and I were trading pictures I noticed this in his shop through the windshield of the car.

So I sent him a picture of my wall.

Then he sent me this. His Scat pack.

So that was rather uncanny, hence the name. Not to mention there were a few of the same signs hanging in our shops!

Then today I was visiting some friends showing them the car and we were discussing a 68 that one of them had built and sold. When I got home another friend texted me asking some questions about a Dart his brother was looking at buying…..it turned out to be the exact Dart we were talking about earlier in the day. Again sort of uncanny how that worked out.

So the car will be known as Uncanny.

Congratulations that is a beautiful car! Looks very nice. I love it when you can drive them while you work on em!

In that case you can drop it off here and I'll give it some 'exercise'.
I may have to take you up on that this weekend, Randy.
You'll have to move the seat back because you're over a foot taller than me...
lol
It's just a 273 car with a cam and headers though, so you might be disappointed.
P.M. me, I've changed my cell number and I'll give it to you.

Inbox is full.

14X7 with 3 1/2” backspace and 15X8 1/2 with 5” backspace. The 14’s fit the discs thank goodness. But the backs will not work. But! I have a 68 Barracuda. They will work there for sure. I also have StuBBle. He has biiiiiiig hips. 15X7 with 4 1/2” backspace would be perfect back here.

It does not have perfect paint. It’s pretty good, but it had a bunch of amateur swirls in it from somebody in the past. The hood was the worst. I took it to my buddy who owns a detail shop and this is what a clay bar and 3 polishes provided. It has silver, gold and green metal, almost micro flake.
