Any one have problems with legendary auto interiors ltd. in Newark NY?
 
Nope! Called them up to order a back seat cover and was told they didn't have it curretnly in stock and with the current back log it would be 3-4 weeks. At about 3.5 weeks they called to tell me they were a little behind and it would be another two weeks but the cover showed up in 1 week.

The cover it self was perfect.
 
Bought front bucket seat covers, for my car. I re-covered them myself,
took me about 12 hrs. per seat. First ones I ever did and they came out pretty good. The only thing I screwed up on was I should have bought
the sponge padding new. Passenger seat was O.k. , but driver seat
was a little worn out. I'm going to have to do it over again in the
future. Good fit for both, though.
 
I haven't bought a set for the Dart yet. I bought all legendary seat covers and door panels for my RR. They arrived in 4 weeks and the quality and fit was great.

They sent me the wrong rear seat bottom.It was one for a sedan.But they quickly sent a new one, and took back the old one, postage paid, and all.
 
Just bought a set of covers and door panels for a 66 Coronet, 2 door hardtop.

The quality of the product is great. The only complaint I had was it took over 9 weeks to get them and the rear door panels did not have the hole and was not perforated where the window handle fits. The front panels had the hole cut out.

I noticed that Paddock has a lot of interior stuff in stock. Not sure where his comes from.
 
i met a guy at chrysler at carlisle,,,he had problems with seat stuff from laysons,,,i learned from him,,that most all the places selling interior stuff gets it from a company called sms,,,either in the state of orgon or washington, state,,,they sell to the public,,,and said was a better experience then laysons,,,and got exactly what he wanted,,

ive talked to legendary about a 2 tone bucket seat cover,with a bigger pleat in the center,,they say it cant be done,,,i think they buy whats made and if you want custom,,ur on ur own,, im gonna try sms,,for 65 bucket seat covers,,i seen a 63 or 64 valiant bucket with a bigger pleat then the 65 cuda seat,,looked a lot nicer,,,
 
do a search for sms auto fabrics , very nice store front with pic's .
 
I bought interior front door and rear quarter trim panels from Legendary. Nice reproductions with one exception. OEM panels had a slot cut in them for the trim panel clips to slip in behind. Their panels have an outline of a slot that you have to trim out your self. Thats bad enough, but whats worse is they want you split the fibre board where the slot is to be cut out and push the alligator clip into the board about half of the thickness of the baord. Yeah you can do that with a very fine flat screwdriver and get the clip to slide into the pocket but as I found out, if you need to pull the panel back off even using the proper tool to get behind the clip, you'll pull the clip through the board making it impossible to use the slot over. If you try to slip the clip all the way behind the board then you have the outline of the clip pushing against the vinyl and is clearly visable from the front of the panel. The board they use isn't as thick and strong as the original stuff was. The vinyl match is a decent copy though.

Why did you think that you needed the sponge padding new? I wonder if I should get the foam padding new, too- to avoid the regret that you have.
Where do I get the padding?

Seriously though... does it really take 12 hours per seat to install it? :sad1:

Depends on what you are doing. If you are just striping the old covers and installing new ones no but if you are going to sand & paint the frame install new padding too then it could.

It took me about 2-2.5 hours to remove the back seat, strip it, install new covers and reinstall the seat.

I just did the front seat (split bench with center arm rest) a couple of months ago. It took about 30 minutes to strip and recover the arm rest. Each of the seat backs took 30-45 minutes to do and the bottom was 45-60 minutes.

I have a large pair of cutters that make short work of the old hog rings and a set of hog ring pliers to install the new rings. Also, the single most important thing to make it go quickly is to through the cover in the dryer for 5 minutes just before you are ready to install. This makes the vinyl very pliable and easy to work with. Also, allows you to stretch it tight so there are no wrinkles when you are done.
 
Sent me the wrong headliner then wouldn't take it back. I don't care to buy from them again.

I've had no problems with them and bought many things from them over the years and have even been at there facility many times. On one car they made the two tone seat covers in the wrong color and they made another set for me without any issues.
 
I got 2 complete sets for my Cuda and Demon. Bought from A1 , I think, On ebay. LOVE them, they both look Great. And got them cheaper than if I bought direct from Ledgendary. Had them in about a week!!
 
Replaced my 2 tone bench seat with legendary cover.fit great, had problems
with the headrest covers they were to small Legendary were great they paid shipping for my headrests and covered them at no extra cost. I would recommend them anytime.
 
No problems for me. I got what I ordered and it only took 3-weeks to get. They fit without any problems too.
 
Thanks for all the feedback guys. We appreciate it when customers tell us how we are doing (good or bad). I love to see the pictures of the Legendary interiors in your cars. Keep up the good work everyone.
 
They have always done a great job for us on the giveaway cars(67 Dart & 68 Valiant). I ordered a set of seat covers for my 67 GTX and they look great. Like with anybody if there's a problem they will fix it. They are very professional in how they run their shop.
