    I know I know it’s not an A body

Glad that my dementia hasn't kicked in yet. I still remember SOME things. Yeah, me too racing any more. One did have a son that was racing a Duster about 14 years ago. It's been along time since I was at Keystone. You posts keep my memories alive and I thank you for that.

    Small Upper ball joint adaptors

I was in the same boat awhile back and used them on a 68 Valiant. Got them from Dr Diff. The car was basic street car, small engine driver. No autocross or stuff like that. Worked for me !

    I know I know it’s not an A body

I remember him well. But I don't remember of the 2 brothers who started racing with a 70 Coronet 318 that was green. I believe I'm thinking of the same guys. 50 years is a long time.

    What gets a car moving?

I got no dog in this hunt with horsepower and torque. But the above statement got me thinking about new cars that have 180 hp and 8 speed transmissions. Could be ??

I have a 1965 barracuda it had a transmission with 2 cables and a floor shifter . I changed the transmission to a newer one , what can i do ?

I never know what someones budget is so you have many choose from as far as aftermarket shifters. Most range in the $200 to $400 . Last one I did was a TCI in my 63 with a 70 transmission.Cost was around $180 and works well. They as in most all aftermarket shifters are 1 cable operation.

    What gets a car moving?

Intake, carb, a good exhaust system with a good tune up will do wonders. That wakes up a 318.

Do I wait for the 5 speed?

We built this car back in 2007. Did a Hot Rod Power Tour. 451 B engine and a Passion 4 speed over drive.3.73 rear. Car put down 20 MPG during and was fun to drive. This is what we noticed.Anywhere we drove if you romped on it you would redline first to second, second to third and ran out of road...

    Can you identify this motor?

More like a 5.2 318 or a 5.9 360 Magnum with a barrel intake . The block should have numbers cast on the side.

Has anyone had experience with Kumho tires

My only complaint of Kumho's is they only lasted 7,000 miles on our PT Cruiser. They were 205/60/17's. Must have been a soft compound.

This weekends big race at keystone canceled. Still to wet more rain coming

No disrespect. That's what I did like that everything was a days drive or less. I mainly was talking about the weather. My joke I tell people in the dry desert is that it rains at least 4 days a week in the Pittsburgh area. If it doesn't rain in 10 days it's considered a drought.

This weekends big race at keystone canceled. Still to wet more rain coming

It is hearing this that I don't miss living in south west pa anymore. Keystone was my home track for years. I do miss the people/friends and the good times I had at Keystone. Weather forecast for 2024 across the US has been said that it is going to be a colder and wet year.

    340 intake on 318

A better photo of all the linkage including the springs and kickdown is needed to answer. You should use a dual spring on the return and a spring for the kickdown return. Nice using the thick base gasket ! Helps with thermal transfer and keeps the fuel from percolating causing hard hot starting.

    15x4.5 2.5 bs

Same size wheel but a 165/75/15 on my 64 Dart. Had to clearance the front of the fender just a bit by adjusting the fender strut. 69 should have room with a 205/70/15. I ran that size on my 67 and 68 Darts on the front with a 7'' wide wheel no issues.

Converting the 73-76 Dart fenders to fit a 67-69 Dart

From what I remember did this in 1977. Put a 74 Dart fender on a 69 Dart. I'm pretty sure all else was a bolt on. Attach fender then the 67-69 grill to see just how much the headlight bucket needs moved

    No Valiant Love?

I think my favorite Valiant is a 1969. The grill makes it. I had a 68 273 Factory bucket seat 4 door car at one time.

    No Valiant Love?

My very first car ever was a 66 Valiant 2 door post 170 3 on the tree. That was back in 1972.

    Slant 6 oil pressure woes…

Not the best photo but I did this with a brass T to hook up my pressure light and have the mechanical gauge too. Did this on a 64 Dart 225.

    Slant 6 oil pressure woes…

Same as you volaredon. Slant 6 cars that were never driven far daily were known for being a sludge mess. Never got hot enough to burn off moisture I guess.

    Slant 6 oil pressure woes…

This is just food for thought. Also I need you to clarify you have replaced the fuel pump and also the oil pump that now leaks. ? I have owned many Slants over the years and have experienced your same problems. Not knowing the condition of your engine I have to assume it has never been rebuilt...
