[WANTED] 122 tooth Slant 6 flywheel

I appreciate the suggestions, I haven't checked the classifieds on slantsix.org but I am there regularly. It is funny how many Mopar/Slant folks are in and around Tennessee!

How many times has a parts car become a builder

Both my boy's car should have been parts cars. Jacob's 65 B'cuda was $400 13 years ago and needed more work than it should have. And here I am with his little brother's 73 Dart Sport that was $400 and needs a lot more than it appeared to need on that winter morning 2 years ago.... LOL. Same...

Stop in for a cup of coffee

They are showing up, 5 shells of them on my front door this morning, waiting for the big double hatch , hearing them here some, but not real loud yet.

The beauty rings and caps are available new, I actually have an order with Ames Performance waiting to hear back from the guy who sold me the rims. I have had a 1/4 drive Milwaukee impact and a hammer drill for over 10 years, been really happy with both of them.

He just runs right over old farm tractor

Stop in for a cup of coffee

I ran 3" to the mufflers and necked down to 2 1/2" over the rearend and out the back and that was hard enough.

Some dyno testing you guys may want to follow on YouTube

...on a build like that? The one set of cnc’d SBM SM’s I had here had a valve job I didn’t love. Cnc’d pretty much right to the 45, and then a 0* top angle. Looking at the flow numbers in the SBM head thread it appears the prepped/blended unported version out flowed the cnc’d/as from SM...

Nice rims Randy, I hope the guy can find the rings and center caps. Never tried Milwaukee tools.

I Need Engine Experts! 340 Roller Lifter and Pushrod Issue

He showed you solid roller lifters. As I said I don’t know if any retro fit hydraulic roller lifters that have the short body.

[WANTED] 122 tooth Slant 6 flywheel

Check with Music City Mopar Club. They might know someone who has slant stuff. My next door neighbor has one in a van that I am going to probably buy. But I think I want the motor etc. Might want to do a cast crank motor for my Duster. Tony Defeo (Whitepunk on Nitro) he might have something...

Been a busy week and weekend, finally got a sunny day yesterday so I took a 600 mile round trip to pick up a set of 5 Pontiac Rally II rims for my Ventura. Date coded for a 67 GTO apparently, not that I care about that. 15x7 and they were sandblasted and primed already. Seller says he also has...

Because the guys that determine the tune up on these new carbs are smarter than the guys were back in the day. That’s sarcasm. But that’s what has happened. The physics and science never changed but in the 1990’s everyone forgot everything, ignored the research from the beginning and over...

Is 20W-50 too heavy for my 340?

Definitely for a stock/older/worn out motor. But anything built recently, I’d go with the builders recommendation. Both motors I’ve had built in the past 10 years the builders(different for each build) recommended 10w30 full synthetic.

    Cuts out going up hill.

I think it might be fixed now wont be 100% until I take it on a longer drive. But I looked at my vent lines made sure they were all good, pulled my gas cap off and found it wasn't actually a vented cap luckily I had one already and put that on. I looked at the rubber line from the sender to the...

I Need Engine Experts! 340 Roller Lifter and Pushrod Issue

Morel hydraulic roller lifters, which are what you have in there, are the best hydro rollers you can use in a SB Mopar. The oil band is lower than others, so the band stays in the bore. The ones in my 273 clear just fine, but my saving grace is I used late 80's 302 heads, which have bigger push...

I Need Engine Experts! 340 Roller Lifter and Pushrod Issue

Well, I won't have to live with it if the lifters shown by @Oldmanmopar work for LA engines! Having said that, I have been unable to find any in my on-line searches that look similar. :(

That's what I thought at first, it's a four lane, divided highway. Yellow stripe on the left, white on the right and white dashes between the lanes.

    Lean idle. Rich cruise.

You don't have to. I have no idea of what you're working with or your goals with this vehicle. People certainly have run locked timing and made it work for them. MP setup their race distributors (aka tach drive distributors) for easy starting and to maintain high rpm timing flat or very...

LOL…your last statement is what Tuner always says. I agree with that but when I see a MAB that big I just suck it up and change them to what I like. Of course, I change the tune up in every new carb I do.

He just runs right over old farm tractor

Farmer has the right to drive tractor on the road. That is a standard two lane road with a shoulder on both sides. The farmer only had a couple better options. 1: The farmer could have loaded his tractor on a truck and trailer, and hauled it. 2: The farmer could have been followed by a...
