    My 340 getting 6 mpg

800 cfm was the smaller TQ. (maybe a Carter fib on the size) A properly tuned air valve on the secondaries will give all the air the engine demands. Some 360's came with an 850cfm. IIRC the Mopar Q-jets were 725 to 750. Triple boosters on the primaries. I pulled a nice one off a 318 van. It did...

What cam to use in a 318

"By the numbers" the comp XE 256 almost looks like the "perfect" cam for a 318 that otherwise stock except for a 4 barrel and dual exhaust.

Some dyno testing you guys may want to follow on YouTube

Pretty substantial difference …….. especially at that power level. If you built the SM combo, what are you going to buy with the $700 you saved to get back the missing 40tq/30hp? I agree it would be interesting to see how a set of “prepped/blended” SM’s would stack up.

Timing Chain Cover crankshaft opening is the wrong size

A mixture of driver side timing tab and 68 water pump is not that bad as long as the balancer has marks for the driver side tab. If you find it a problem to see the marks. Just get it to TDC, then make or find a bolt on passenger side pointer. Then install timing tape.

    power steering bracket mounting holes

OK, this is the 2 lower holes on the timing cover, yes. I was curious, this is a Borgeson bracket and the instructions also say these go into a water jacket. They must be confused.

We could expand that to the NPS/National Pest Service. They could monitor insects, skunks, coyotes, rats and mice, crows, swallows, burros and such. Plus the most destructive of pests, teenage boys with beer. How many thousand Fed jobs could that create?

How many times has a parts car become a builder

I had a 74 Dart Sport that a guy on Moparts gave me to get it out of his yard so the War Dept. would quit  at him. All I had in it was the cost of diesel to go get it an hour away. It sat around for years and I would rob do dads off of it for other cars every now and then. Years later, I...

    I know I know it’s not an A body

Heck I have a hard enough time remembering my combo from the 80’s. Probably a 400 stroker that many guys ran back then. I always stuck with the 440 combos. We all ran junk modified stock parts back then. Some guys did step up to better rods but that wasn’t in my budget.
