No problem at all. I’ve did it many times. And the reverse many times as well. The reversion they yap about never seemed to bother the the big ports flowing into the little ports. Just use the big port gaskets. Kim
Well, that was just my thoughts on it. I have been wrong b4. I have at least ten TQs and not 1 opens vertically. U can’t get the same amount of flow from the little front barrels as u can from the rear. Kim
No the rear butterflies were never designed to fully open vertical. They direct some air and fuel towards the front of the intake to balance out the air fuel ratio as the front butterflies are very small. It is not a GM quadrajet. Kim
Have u actually crawled under the car to verify that there is no fuel or air leaks? R all hoses and clamps in good shape? I had 1 motor where the eccentric came loose a rattled like hell. It could also be a problem with the carb. Kim
Dam near every carb I’ve worked on/rebuilt has been tweaked in one way or another. As well as almost every other mechanical part on a vehicle. Even if it’s stone stock. Timing is usually the first step to helping to make it run better. Kim
