    I wouldn't pound it......You may bend the mounting tabs on the frame. IIRC, I used a sawsall on both sides of the bushing between the mounting tabs and the bushing and removed the control arm once both sides were cut. Worked the pieces out once the control arm was out.

    That engine sounds great Steve. Maybe an air lock? I poured my antifreeze into the engine with a tea spoon when I first filled it......Worried about the air lock. I've had damn geysers out of the rad before.

    Those shafts look like they are from a stamped steel set up. You can tell by the large oiling holes. Adjustable 273 rockers have 2 oiling holes per rocker on the shaft. One near the loaded side of the rocker base (Should have a banana groove, but they all don't) and one to feed the rocker...

    And OP, don't forget that after the 90* btdc on #1 compression, you have to go all the way around and stop at 20* ATDC on the 2nd time around.

    What kind of fuel do you run?

    My mild build 340 turned out to have 175 psi cranking pressure. That's with reducing the compression height of the pistons, and a .050 head gasket. Does that mean I'm S.O.L? Pistons are .018 out of the hole and the heads cc out at around 70.
