Cost for labor on stroker build?

i do not own a minivan. closest i've come there was a 68 chevy sport van 108. wonderful little van. 10/10 would own another one. your 2018 taurus looks like something a midlevel regional manager at ross dress for less would drive. that's like, the car that resourcing reserves for you on a...

Cost for labor on stroker build?

that sounds too much like Mini Van Damme, which would be far too cool for Dal the Naan.

Got a new Truck (new to me)

Thanks. I will have to find a way to make a mopar alternator work. I have several from the 70s and 80s plus a couple magnum era ones. I'm sure I could just wire in an old style voltage regulator and it work. I may look into that hei conversion. I've heard good things about them I know...

Cost for labor on stroker build?

I'm sure that it would. I was wrong about the time frame of the build. Randy built his 406 sbc roughly 10 years ago, man how time goes by. Going by today's cost of things I can believe $20k for the 680 hp sbc that you are talking about.

440 power gains/ aluminum head advantages?

You got that right, not to mention the sprockets being machined poorly with the keyways in the wrong places. Add that to the cheap chain stretching and you can really stack the lack of tolerances up! I've seen a timing set come up almost 12 degrees retarded on a big block Chevy and that was with...

440 power gains/ aluminum head advantages?

Got a new Truck (new to me)

OK the Alternator was a 60 amp, double pulley bought at Autozone for a 1985 Ford F150 application. The one wire kit is designed for '85 and earlier Ford and 60 amp or less Alternators. ABS junction block af the rear was all froze up, out it goes. Went with the Mopar HEI ignition conversion...

440 power gains/ aluminum head advantages?

Not degreeing a cam is a huge mistake a lot of guys make. You can never assume it's going to be even close. If you put a lower cost timing chain in they will stretch and you'll lose 2-3 degrees within a 100 miles. You don't have to pull the heads to degree a cam, but that the first place I would...

440 power gains/ aluminum head advantages?

Cranking compression and "cranking psi" are the same thing. You're looking for the cylinder we pressure the engine makes while cranking. A late intake valve closing (like an excessively retarded cam install) will show up as lower cranking compression values. 160 psi seems a bit low to me...

    Old magnum MP cam info

    This is what I found, no idea if true. "It's the RT+10 cam. duration - 272/278 o-lap - 37 centerline - 119 lift - .467/.482 recom. spring - P5249464"

Am I crazy or is this project Duster way overpriced?

The whole “survivor” label is misleading. If it hasn’t been started in 20+ years it’s not a survivor. It died over 20 years ago. That’s a 1 owner project car that needs everything rebuilt. It’s a cool car, but on a non-running car the low mileage isn’t as significant. It’s like selling a NOS...

Got a new Truck (new to me)

Awesome thread! I'm getting alot of helpful information here for my d100 project! I plan on doing a 5.9 mag swap with a LA inspired look. The fuel pump idea is brilliant thanks to @Garrett Ellison for that one. I will most definitely do that. And the stand alone alternator I'll do too. Where did...

    video: lca bushing fit

Wrong product for the job. It’s for slip fit assemblies- assemblies that were intended to be a slip fit. It is NOT for turning an assembly that was designed to be a press fit that has a lousy tolerance and is in reality barely a slip fit, back into a press fit. That Loctite is intended to...

Where can I buy a reliable remanufactured 318 for 1971 Duster?

I assure you that the VIN numbers will match. I had the engine rebuilt in 1988 by a shop near Panama City. It still runs great but it is dripping oil from an elusive source on the back side of the engine (and not the oil pressure sensor). Oil runs down the right side exhaust manifold. I...

Help converting my 64 to 66 23 Spline 8A33 to an overdrive ?

This is a hard read for me; 1) Do you want to convert your trans, as in take it apart and install the overdrive gears? or 2) Do you want to drop your current trans, heave it into the back-40, and then buy/install a good used overdrive box? I mean reading your post, I think both scenarios are a...

Make sure you post his response here, I haven’t ever really talked about the whole idea and am curious what others might think/know. I am a member of the group, but would be easier to keep track of the info off FB.

Where can I buy a reliable remanufactured 318 for 1971 Duster?

Thanks … if you find a good lead that would be great. I’ve followed other leads and find the local people so backed up they can’t help anytime soon. The person in FWB with the best reputation won’t answer his phone and his office door is locked. That’s how easy it is to get a rebuild locally...

Poor little Marshall :( I'm sure it hurt....been thru it myself too many times. Very sorry for your loss. I'm going to pull my steering box off and weld the cracks in the frame, and probably plate it too. It already has the diagonal brace that runs over beneath the radiator. I've gotta move my...
