Trying out a spreadbore cab on the Duster.

Edelbrock makes like a 1/16" plate that will seal it fine. No need for a thick adapter or spacer.

Trying out a spreadbore cab on the Duster.

Technically, it is. Though people will argue. The proper classification for the smaller AFB and AVS carburetors is spread bore, but square flange. Most people only call a carburetor spread bore if the secondaries are the size of beer cans like The TQ and Quadrajet. So, for garage speak, the...

That's gotta be a joke ad.

440 power gains/ aluminum head advantages?

You got that right, not to mention the sprockets being machined poorly with the keyways in the wrong places. Add that to the cheap chain stretching and you can really stack the lack of tolerances up! I've seen a timing set come up almost 12 degrees retarded on a big block Chevy and that was with...

Here is the distributor slot sizes for the given advance degrees. https://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/threads/distributor-advance.229240/#post-1969917374

440 power gains/ aluminum head advantages?

At idle or part throttle the vacuum advance will be activated. Won't hurt a thing at part throttle as it's not under load. But don't forget, you're going to have to limit the total mechanical advance to around 34 degrees (without the vacuum can hooked up) to keep spark knock at bay. So you're...

440 power gains/ aluminum head advantages?

Read through this. Maybe it will help. https://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/threads/manifold-vacuum-experiment.556664/
  15. RustyRatRod

440 power gains/ aluminum head advantages?

No. When the engine revs, the vacuum drops off, so the vacuum advance would drop out on acceleration. If your vacuum advance is adjustable, turn the adjustment screw all the way clockwise to start with and go from there.
  16. RustyRatRod

440 power gains/ aluminum head advantages?

Yeah, that's too much total anyway. Generally, big blocks like a little less total than small blocks. Most times in the 30-34 degree range. That's a fairly lumpy camshaft, so I would recommend trying the vacuum advance on manifold vacuum with about 40 degrees initial with the vacuum advance...

440 power gains/ aluminum head advantages?

If you have the distributor locked, I'm out. I don't have any experience with that, nor do I recommend it, so my advice would be pointless.

Question: What is the Best timing chain setup LA or Magnum

The tensioner is for use with only one style of double roller chain and I cannot remember which one it is. There are two basic designs. One has dog bone shaped links and the other has straight oval links. I THINK the dog bone link style is for use with the tensioner, but I am not 100% sure. One...

    UTG vs DDG

When I made my comment, I didn't mean I wasn't interested in THIS particular subject, rather, I am pretty much uninterested in anything other than my own projects. 440 power gains/ aluminum head advantages?

That's a mighty big and expensive change you're thinkin about when there could still be some left in the tune. Can you get specific with your tune? We might can help more. Now if you just WANT aluminum heads, then that's a different matter altogether.

Correct. Just have your timing light hooked up and ready to read right off the bat. Get the RPM up to about 3K and pull in about 36 degrees of timing.

Carburetor CFM 360 5.9 Magnum Recommendation.

I agree that the cfm size is adequate, but that 1407, man they have a lot of issues even new and I don't think Edelbrock has ever addressed them. Running lean, surging and on and on. You can find page after page of problems with them on the internet. I have one myself and went through it...

Where can I buy a reliable remanufactured 318 for 1971 Duster?

What "complexy" would there be in changing from one small block to another? If you think simple things like one motor mount and different flex plate or flywheel are complexities, maybe another hobby is in order.
