    Sure grip housing... send it?

I took a chance and let a guy who supposedly knew what he was doing build this.. I bought all Timken bearings, races. Yukon aggressive clutches... This was the carnage after said guy didn't torque pinion nut.. I was pi$$ed. That sure grip was perfect in fact I built it myself, it was the only...

Lower priced Power lok, sure grip units on Ebay.

Yes all carriers from 741 742 and 489 will swap back and forth. You just have to use the correct side bearings and races depending on the carrier you use Ie Open, Powr Lok, Cone Type, Spool. All factory carriers were 30 spline 8.75 side gear.

Lower priced Power lok, sure grip units on Ebay.

I'd be concerned about the durability on the side gears and pinion gears. Hell even the cross shafts might be made of a softer metal.. Looks and function are 2 different things.

I've ran 2 street driven power Loks with aggressive clutches 8 years combined. I think they have great manners..

    8&3/4 axle fitment problem

    3.55 from 8.25

Keep in mind that 97 and later 8.25s went to 29 splines.. and 96.5 and earlier were 27 splines. Sure grips are plentiful in both the auburn cone type and the Trac lok 2 pinion clutch type. Yukon is making a dura grip for the 8.25 now but requires 29 spline axles.

Thread missing? 8-3/4 housing end as welded for shortened housing...

I too have had my mod battles.. but just like the gummint the big fish wins... It's odd though that at the request of a poster things can be deleted, but for sale ads cannot, or that big discussion about valve covers, ice-cream, cats ect cannot. A real guy lost his money in that and had no part...

Is this a thrust button and can it be removed?

They were stock e body axles.. they look just like all the 8.75 axles I've seen. Sounds like Moser did not want to cut em, or was easier to buy a new pair
