    HP gains?

Have connectors welded in. Did that the first week I owned it. They can come right back out if ever needed. Not much pretzel effect here. I don't think.... Point it where you want to go, dump the clutch on the 2 step and it leaves straight as an arrow. (probably just jinxed myself there)

    HP gains?

Yeah.......... tech is a problem. Had it at the track in late 2022 and was kind of surprised I got shut down. old guy said I ran too fast. "Buy an NHRA book". I'm not cutting up a real Demon 340 4 speed for a bar or bars. Maybe if it was a slant or 318 car but no way. I do not condone what we do...

    HP gains?

It's just a .040 over 360, 4 inch stroker with Edelbrock heads. 11.25:1, Lunati solid roller .259/.265, .640 lift. Holley Ultra XP. I'm not a keyboard dyno guy, but just wondered if maybe I hit that magic 600 mark that smallblocks explode:rofl:

    HP gains?

Geez hope you guys can read it. Darn scanner broke. It made 576 at 6100 and 532 ft/lb at 4900. Hope that helps.

    HP gains?

Hi guys! Recently had my Eddy's Ported by a real pro and he flowed before his work and after. So from .200 lift to .700 I gained an average of 17 CFM with big numbers in the midlift range. For example, at .300 I picked up 22 CFM, at .400 increase of 30 CFM. Exhaust avg. gain was 11 CFM across...

    Head gasket woes

FelPro 1008's do not need re-torqued after running. Never done it. Motor currently is 11.25:1. Pounding it since summer 2019.

    Head gasket woes

That's gotta be it. Both sides? Something went bad in the clamping process. Never even heard of a bad ARP bolt, never mind several.

understanding a low oil pressure 360

It sure is. Happened to me once. I caught it before I finished the motor. Back to Domhoff racing and bushed the bores. Something I always check now, even with flat tappets. Ya never know.....

understanding a low oil pressure 360

This could very well be the problem. Get a plan. Check everything possible from easiest to most difficult.......ya know..... try a different gauge, try a different oil filter. I've seen a brand new Napa Gold(Wix) create a similar problem. Maybe check the right angle adapter thoroughly...

understanding a low oil pressure 360

Thicker oil may seem to help, but there's no way that pressure should be that low with ANY oil. Find the problem.

Bush it! Your machinist may cut you a break, as mine did.

no offense to anyone, but that block's probably garb anyhow. Probably needs 4 sleeves........ Just my own pessimistic thought.......

    Tapper to roller cam conversion

Looks like something's not "jiving" right. What make gear is that?

    Tapper to roller cam conversion

In my LA, I have a bushing installed at the bottom of my distrib shaft, keeping the gear from riding upward. Don't know if it helps but and old racer told me to do it.

    Tapper to roller cam conversion

This gear was installed when I built my motor in 2019. 10 or 12 dyno pulls, 5 summers of hard running. Changed it over the winter and looks like it didn't need changed. No "knife edge" wear. Nothing but normal wear. I think it could have gone at least 3 more summers. Also, I do not baby the...

    Tapper to roller cam conversion

I'm just not buying it. I do around 2000 miles a summer, plus a few passes and have no problem. I'm pushing way more HP than 450. Bullet AND Lunati told me years ago to run from melonized gears. You might be right but I've never even heard of a failure. Maybe people never check them. What...

    Water pump pulley?

    Thanks, Dana!

    Tapper to roller cam conversion

If your motor is apart, I would highly recommend you first and foremost get the lifter bores bushed. If you're goin' roller, now is NOT the time to save money. I can almost guarantee you'll have oiling issues just dropping those pricey roller lifters into the factory lifter bores. Even if you...

    Water pump pulley?

I remember reading here, years ago that for maximum cooling, your W pump pulley should be smaller than your crank pulley. Sounds right to me so where can ya find a pulley under 6 1/2 inch diameter? Checked all the usual suspects and they're all 6.5 to 6.7.

I Need Engine Experts! 340 Roller Lifter and Pushrod Issue

First.Forget hydraulic rollers. Second, get the lifter bores bashed. You may hear different bit been there done that. Third, get ahold of BAMM Solid roller lifters. Smith Bros will handle your pushrods. THEN ABSOLUTELY call Mike at B3 racing.. Pay the piper once and you'll never go back.

    Lean idle. Rich cruise.

OK. Time to report results. 77 degrees today, low humidity. Took a nice long ride, got it nice and warm. idles at 1150RPM as usual, 13.5 AFR. Good. I do know big(ish) cams like a bit of rich idle. Next, cruising on dead level road, 45 MPH around 2800, AFR mid 12's. 65 MPH, 3300 RPM 12.8 to...

10-32, 3/16 long did the trick for me. just tapped 3/16 into the body, so they'd be snug. getting it back together shortly.

Done. At least it's a start. all four corners starting at .070, since they were so HUGE. I didn't realize once the throttle plate is off, that T slot hole has no communication with the carb body other than the bottom . Easy peasy. blew them out......little brake clean. Nice and tidy. Will keep...

Hope so... carb all apart, everything I need coming tomorrow from good old McMaster Carr. Think I'll try starting at .065. As you suggested.

Hi guys! Years ago someone was making and selling 10 degree bushings for the MSD billet distributors. Anyone know if they're still available?
